• My names Anne and I'm the type of girl who loves to help others. I have long blonde hair, a heart shaped face, blue eyes and a long curvy figure. But I have no time for music or boys when there are so many better things to do like helping your freinds own boy problems. In a way I find helping other peoples lifes as a way for not having to worry about my own. But not everyone can be helped, i found out.

My friend Sarah is having a rough time, her parents are splitting up, her boyfriend is cheating on her and all these rumours are going around school about her.
"Hi Sarah, hows it going?" I asked, looking at my friend in concern.
"Oooh hi Anna, nothing much but did you hear the latest rumour going around."
"Yes, how do you feel about it?"
"The usual, just going to ignore itreally."
"Come on Sarah." I plead. "You have enough on your plate so dump him!"

Sarah looked at me, pain written on her face then sprinted for the bathroom with tears spilling down her face.

It was monday, and the bell for the end of lunch was about to ring. I entered the toilets and called Sarah. I heard a muffeild reply and seated myself outside the cubicule I hoped she was in.

"we're going to be late to class if you don't come out soon."
I called. "I'll fix your make up for you."
    "Go away!" she cried.
"No, I think I'll just stand here, till you come out."

Suddenly, quicker than I thought, the cubical opened and a tear stained Sarah walked out. Her eyes burned into me as she whispered angerly, "I'm sick of you putting your nose in everything, if you must know Mathew dumped me!" she hissed. "Now look for once in your life and leave me alone to live mine, I need a friend not some person who thinks they can ask a load of stupid questions."

She then slammed the door on my shocked face. After a few moments I sighed.
"I'm sorry Sarah I'll try to be a friend, you can tell me when your ready. you ok?"

There was no reply and I bit my lip, I couldn't lose Sarah she was my only friend. And thats when I relised. All my life I have helped people and by doing so all I've done is push them away and given them more pain to suffer. I was only trying to help, but at the end of the day the only person who needed help was me.

I couldn't stop Sarah's parents splitting up, I couldn't stop the rumours or get her a better guy. All I can do is be a friend and help her deal with her pain, nothing more, nothing less. And so with my eyes open to what was the real hard truth, I turned around left the bathroom and gave my friend the space she needed. All I can do is be there for her and be a good friend.
