• I sit here in my room with the worst fever ever. It's the beginning of summer and I want to go out with my friends. Now I'm stuck here in a large mansion with my 'trusty' maid who only comes once every two hours for my medicine. Now I'm bored and hot, wanting someone, just anyone, to be here to entertain me. Dad is at work and Mom went to her friend's house to avoid my sickness. She also took my little dog, Aero, with her, too. They left me here to die, oh why do I have to suffer.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door. It has been 15 minutes since my maid came, but who can it be?

    "Come in," I moaned.
The door creeks open and a skinny,dark-haired lady walked in. I forgot her name but I knew she was one of my relatives.

She smiled, "Good morning, Sylvia. I heard you weren't feeling so well and so I came by to visit."

Now I remember, she's my aunt. She doesn't come visit much but she's always happy and smiling. And also I have this feeling of hatred towards her. Her personality, her smile, and her stupid, little ocarina.

"Why are you here, Aunt Blair? Shouldn't you be with my mother, sipping tea and talking about the great blue sky, while I suffer here?" I asked.

She smiled again,"Oh, your mother and her green tea diet. Do you mind if I sit?" She pulled up a chair before I could even answer, and she continues. "It's been a while since I last visit. How many years was it? Two? Three?..."

Annoyed by her intelligence and this fever, I folded my arms and yelled out,"It's been only five years! Gees! How old can you be?"

"But I'm only 17," she joked.

"Shut up! you're way older than that. stop lying about your age!" I countered.

"Hey, hey. How about a song to make you feel better?" she asked.

    "No, all your songs suck!"

"Okay, then," she smiled and then took out a shiny blue ocarina. She began to play the song from her last visit.

"I told you no," I repeated but she continues to play. Great. Now I'm suffering with a fever and her. Can this day get any worse?

Somehow, during all these torments, I remember the first time I met my dear aunt Blair. I was only ten and my mother kept bragging about her loving sister during dinner. How they both picked flowers and ate cookies together. She also told me that Aunt Blair is coming to visit us for the first time. Since I don't know who she was, I showed a bit of interest, but she seems like a fun person coming from my mom.
When she finally arrived, she smiled and said that I was very petty and then join my mother in her gossip and chit-chats. My mother always takes her out to parties or events in the city, so I haven't had a day with her. One day my mother ran to me, panicking, and told me that Aunt Blair went missing. She's always getting lost in an unfamiliar place. So I have to help my mother search for her.
When I was near the courtyard I heard a very high pitch tune then it turns into a very nice melody. The noise was coming from behind the large rosebush, and so I creep closer. I stuck my head out from the side and there she was sitting on the stone bench and playing a blue rock.

She paused, gave me a smile, and said, "Oh dear, you found me. I guess your mother wants to go to the mall again."

"What's that? A magic rock?" I asked and pointed at it.

She laughed, "Silly you. It's an ocarina, something like a flute but in a different shape."

    "Can I play with it?"

She thought about it then said, "Maybe later, like my next visit."

"But, why can't I play with it now?"

"I'll promise you when I come here again. For now let's hide from your shopaholic mom," she joked and resume her song on the ocarina.

"No!" I shouted and stumped my feet around. "I want to play with it now!" She didn't take me serious and started laughing until my mom found us. From that day on I gave all my hatred towards her.

When she finish her song my mind came back to reality. She showed me a smile while polishing the ocarina with a cloth. "So how do you like it?" she asked.

"Still sick," I said referring to my condition.

Aunt Blair giggled,"As promise, you can have my ocarina." She dropped the ocarina in my hands.

"But I don't want it anymore," I replied in an angry tone. "It's useless now."

"And why is that?" she asked while putting the chair back.

"Because I hate you! And I don't want anything from you." I spoke as my room was getting hot.

"My, my. I think your fever has gotten worse," she said cocking her head to the side.

I squeezed the ocarina between my hands and fiercely replied,"It's not about the damn fever. It's about my stupid damn aunt that I hate. She's so stupid all she gave me was this stupid rock!" As an impulsed, I threw the ocarina at her with all my strength.
She caught it, or more like it landed directly in her hand. Then she moved closer to my side and put her cold hand on my forehead.

"Hm. It seems that your fever is getting really bad. I suggest you should sleep more and drink lots of water," said Aunt Blair.

I slapped her hand away. "Since when did you became my mom? Get out of my room and get out of my house. I never want to see you again!"

"Okay," she smiled. "I'll take that as a promise." She placed her ocarina on my night table. "And the next time we see each other again, can you play me a song?"

    "How can I play-"

    "Promise?" she cut me off.

"Fine. Just leave already," I said and turned to look away.

"Goodbye Sylvia," she smiled and left my room.

Somehow my room felt really cool and my fever has gotten a little better. I think Aunt Blair was the cause of it. Soon my mother and Aero arrived home and entered my room. I was surprised and cuddled with Aero.

"Mom, I think my fever is gone," I told her.

"That's great to know, honey," she replied taking off her mask.

"And Aunt Blair came by to visit you but you weren't here," I lied.

She giggled,"Sylvia, dear, Aunt Blair died two years ago. Are you sure your fever is completely gone?"

I was shocked. "But I saw her just a while ago. I swear I did. How come you didn't tell me she die."

"I thought you didn't care about her," Mom shrugged.

I stared at the little blue ocarina that is sitting on my night table. I swear it was her, she touched my forehead, and she even gave me her ocarina. But my mom just laugh, told me to go sleep, and left my room with Aero again.

I took her-mine ocarina and blew into it which made an ugly note. I giggled to myself and said,"I'm getting there. Just wait."
