    Prologue

Wet. That's the first thing I thought. Shoved through the door into a dark underground tunnel I thought not that I had been rejected by the world, or that my head was bleeding or EVEN that my boyfriend had been a freaking undercover agent out to get me. All I did was notice how wet the ground was.

    Chapter One

It started out as any average ordinary day, a wake up text from my boyfriend Richard, which, despite objections about calls being more personal, was the best way to wake up. Ever. His smooth voice came from my phone, "Zo? Zo?" I flipped open my pink Samsung Chloe and the small black font "Awake? See you at school, I can't wait to see your beautiful face." He was so sweet. No wonder I loved him so much.
Now BEFORE you call me obsessed, clingy or whatever, you have to agree, a boyfriend who sends you a text at 6:00 so you could do your makeup and straightening on your impossibly frizzy hair PLUS he sends a different message every day (example: yesterday it was, "Today is another yesterday waiting to happen, make it one worth remembering." wink , is definitely worth gushing to your best friend about.
After doing and redoing my makeup, picking and repicking out my clothes and straightening my frizzy hair into submission, I finally jumped on my bus. My Chloe buzzed frantically, I glanced at the screen. "UNKNOWN CALLER" blinked at me impatiently, and I glared at the screen, irritated. No doubt my loser brother, Chris, passed out at some insane party, had a major hangover, and was calling from some payphone to tell me to call the school board to say he had a "very important doctors appointment". I flipped open the phone, ready to tell him to call the friggin Safe Arrival himself when a wierd eery voice interupted my angry thoughts.
"We know what you are, Zoe Night, if you give yourseslf up, it will be easier." I shut my phone, hanging up on the wierdo.
"Freak" I mutter, but an uncontrollable fluttery feeling jumped around in my chest.
