• The night was silent only the sounds of passersby meet the ears of a young woman as she sat quietly on the steps of a school. It must have been about midnight or so, the streets were lit up only by the street lights, passing car’s and from the few lights left on. Everything was silent ‘til the sound of footsteps and voices touched the woman’s ears from the path coming up the side of the school. She knew who these people were; they were her friends the one’s she was waiting so quietly for. Pushing herself up, she moved toward her friends tapping her fingers on her leg. “Could you have taken any longer?” She asked her voice bored as she stood there a little anger.

“Oh take a breath and chill Isabella, we are here after all.” The tallest guy said as if mocking her.

“Ya Bella, we are here now that’s what matters.” The shorter guy said smiling to her.

“Come on let’s go, Sarah get’s out of the hospital in an hour. It’s odd that it’s so late that she’s getting up but the doc said something about the sunlight hurting her eyes.” Isabella said and without another word turned walking to the street and quickly across the two guys following without another word. They stopped just outside the Main doors as Isabella looked back at the tow following her. “Simon, Lee stay here. I’m going to go get Sarah then we will leave.” She said simply and walked inside, she was not in a good mood. She had work to be doing right now and this was taking up her time, but Sarah was a good friend so she did not mind as much.

A nurse was waiting for her with Sarah in a wheelchair she was to take home with her. “You must be Isabella; she never stopped talking about you.” She said softly.

Sarah was no more than a child, and Isabella was to be her caretaker now that the girl’s parents were dead. “Isabella let’s go home I’m tired.” She said with a yawn.

Isabella could not help but smile as she took hold of the chair and started to push her away, when they got outside the boys ran up to them asking how Sarah was doing. “Guy’s give her some space ok, she’s tired and needs to get home come on.” She said and started on their way home, with no car it would be a long walk, Isabella was silently the whole walk something did not feel right. Shaking off the feeling Isabella sighed softly as they walked sweet little Sarah sound asleep a blanket wrapped tightly around her. She looked so happy right then, like nothing could hurt her in any way again. “She’s so sweet; if I just went through what she did I don’t think I could be this happy again for a long time.” She said looking over at Lee the shorter of the two guys.

Lee nodded and put a hand on Isabella’s back. “You are what’s making her smile, the fact that she has you to be there for her from here on out. She really does look up to you Bella.” He said and laughed a bit as he walked ahead with Simon, the two were only there because Isabella was going to need their help getting Sarah into the house. Lee started to chat with Simon leaving Isabella to her thoughts.

Sighing softly if it was not for the screech of tires and the shoots of the men in a van, she would have never knew something was wrong. The Van came to a stop beside her and before she could react one of the masked men as her arm tightly in his grasp not letting go any time soon. “SIMON! LEE!” She screamed at the top of her lungs any other words being cut off by the man’s hand over her mouth. Trying to kick behind her Isabella did everything in her power to get away, after a moment she was forced away not being able to see her friends. There were shots, and then a scream from Sarah and finally nothing everything around her was silent except for the words of the man holding her. “Get it over with she’s bagged me twice now!” Something sharp went into her neck and soon blackness started to take over, she could feel her body going limp as she still tried to get away. Fighting until she was out cold she managed to break the man’s nose with her head before she was out. Everything had been moving in slow motion for her, and now the last glimpse of Sarah’s face was all she saw. The poor girl was scared tears already streaming down her face as she sat helpless in her chair unable to get away.
