Vincent
I had heard of vampires, demons and other creatures that only appeared in stories actually existing in real life, but I didn't take it seriously. Tyrant said that the humanoids were weak and if we stood up to them, we'd win and we wouldn't have to worry about them harming us any more. I believed him. Everyone believed Tyrant. But then something happened and my opinion on the supernatural changed forever.
I was sound asleep in my bed on a Friday night. It was around 3am when I heard my mom yelling downstairs. I groggily sat up rubbing my eyes. I felt like curling up and going back to sleep but I was curious as to what was causing the ruckus downstairs. I yawned and slipped on a pair of pants not bothering to put on a shirt. It was silent as I walked downstairs, and I looked around the living room confused when I reached the bottom of the stairs. My mom was standing nearest to the front door, my father about 5 feet away. And there were two boys standing across the room. I had never seen them before. The shorter boy looked straight at me and nodded. "Alistar, you promised, hand him over." The taller boy said firmly. I froze and my heart sped up. "Excuse me?" I asked, trying to hide the shock in my voice. My father sighed. "Vincent, listen. . .you. . .you're not normal, you need to go with them." He motioned towards the two strangers. I looked at him like he was crazy. "What? I don't even know them! And what do you mean 'not normal'?" My father sighed. "Take a seat and I'll explain." Before I could reply my mom shook her head. "No! You can't do this! He's our son, you can't take him away!" I could see the tears swelling in her eyes.
