• Rea

    Riza begged.
    Wanted me to tell her.
But I said I will not.
    I have a life too.
    And I couldn't tell.

"Rea, your so cool and calm. Tell me how!"
"Riza, your so peppy and glad. Tell me how you can even stay happy through everything."
Riza looked at me with a fallen smile. "Your so cruel. How could you say that when all we have is each other?"
I coldly glanced at my sister, who believed this was it.
"Your so clumsy. How could you say that when we're so different?" My glance, I could tell, was as cold as January ice. I took my uniform, and threw it across the hall, into the guest room, where the delinquent had left. I walked up the stairs, into the practice room. I left her.

    Rea left.
    I felt sorry for me.
It was cold and frightful, and she left me alone.
    Rea is her.
    Her steady gaze.
I wish she could of stayed.
    We are staying in.
    Me, my.
I couldn't take another day with my hesitant mind.

I glanced down at the pieces of the mirror I was looking at earlier that night. I felt my mom staring at me, and I imagined an image of her clearly. She had brown hair, front bangs, brown eyes, and medium length hair. She would have been a sweet mother, as sweet as her smile in my mind. But could it be I d- "Riza, Mrs. Madell wishes to speak to us." Rea's voice cleared my mind, and I walked upstairs in my nightgown, a pink version of Rea's, into our practice room. Rea had not changed either. "Goodness, you two are alike. Not changing as I call you into practice! Change into your uniforms. The rest of the class is coming." Rea nodded, and she left into the guest room. I sighed and went into our room, and changed. The sun wasn't shining, as it was raining. I closed my eyes, trying to recreate the image of my mother. Nothing came to. I sighed, and pulled out my uniform. Someone knocked. "Hurry up.." Rea opened the door gently, as I was changing my shirt. "Ah.. sorry." She closed the door as if it was nothing. I blinked a few times. "Rea....!" I screamed. I shook my head, and continued to change, my face flushed with embarrassment.
Rea was so calm in these things, I had to admire her, even though she touched my breast and saw them too. I felt Rea leaning against the door as I prepared to leave. I picked up my books, and opened the door. "Sorry. Mrs. Madell expects us up there real soon." She grinned widely, but it still looked calm. She walked up the stairs, books in hand, and opened the door to our practice room. I sighed as she was scolded loudly again. "Straighten your posture! Always say excuse me as you enter a room! Bow when greeting, entering, leaving, and apologizing to someone!" I saw Rea's back straighten, and her bow. "I'm sorry, Mrs. Madell." "And why?" "For-" "No, start again and state your reason!" I sighed and shook my head. "I'm sorry for my foolishness, Mrs. Madell." "Good. Now proceed. Your sister is coming." I took a deep breath, and tried to act like nothing happened. The door closed as I touched the stairs railing. I knocked on the door.
    Mrs. Madell answered.
    Rea watched.
    I spoke.
    Bowed.
    Praised.
    I am despicable.

    Rea

My gaze was stuck on Riza as she entered perfectly. She knocked gently, but loudly, and said, "Excuse me," in a melodic tone. She bowed and said, "Sorry for intruding." Mrs. Madell looked at my perfect other self fondly, and told her to take a seat. The old ladies gaze fell on my eyes, and I returned her gaze. We looked at each other with hatred, while Riza fiddled with her thumbs. Then, we heard a fair amount of knocks on the door. I looked at the left over desks. Riza sat at the front, as close as possible. I sat as far as possible. "Excuse us for intruding!" a chorus of voices said in unison. "Excused. Please quietly take a seat." Riza continued to fiddle, as I began talking to Maria, my friend who could understand me. "I could never tell who is who," Maria began sarcastically. "You look exactly the same." I snorted. "Entertaining, Maria. Very. We are so alike I want to sit at the front to get scolded quickly too!" I said in an even more sarcastic tone. We laughed, but were not heard over the chatter. "Ah. Riza-love at 5 o'clock." Maria pointed, and I followed her finger to find Riza's crush, taking a seat directly behind her. "She doesn't have the guts to tell him, or anyone. But me." Maria rolled her eyes. "And to think that Jake likes her too. Their perfect. Both smart, and organized. Except Jake is much cooler and athletic." I felt a flame burn. "Don't talk about my sister like that.." I said quietly, but fiercely. Maria must of caught on, for she quickly apologized. "Speaking of love, Gabriel at 10-15." This meant he was diagonal from Riza. We calculate form her position, in the weirdest way possible so no one knows. Gabriel, the quiet, misunderstood one, also liked Rizaline. "Ah.. isn't he dreamy..?" Maria asked. "No." I replied bluntly. "Wheres Mark?" I asked. "Right over there." She pointed to the front corner. "Guess what, that seat behind you is going to get occupied," Maria whispered. "A new student is coming.." "Settle class!" Mrs. Madell's voice rang through the class. The only person who didn't have to follow these instructions were Riza. Perfect, petite, Riza.

"Today we will learn basic fractions. Who knows fractions?" I raised my hand, and glanced around the class to see who else. Jake and Gabriel. I quickly turned my head as Jake caught me looking. My face, clearly red, must of been visible, for Mrs. Madell said, "No shame in being the smart twin. After all, the smarter the better." I gasped, and stood up. "No! Rea is much better! You just don't give her a chance!" Mrs. Madell paced. "Ah.. And what proof is that?" Her face came closer to mine, her gaze cold. "The fact that you scold her for everything!" I closed my eyes tightly. "You scold her for not having perfect posture, not having perfect pronunciation, perfect bows and everything! Everything has to be perfect for you!" I felt everyone staring at me. "For she is not good at anything! She is the worst!" "She is the best person I've ever known. If you don't give her a chance, she can't show you her strong points." "Go tell your mother. That's right, she is dead." The last words, rang through my head, and possibly through the whole class. "Which mother? What mother, as a matter of fact...?" I said quietly. "There was no mother I got to know. That's why I.. no.. we ended up with a horrible caretaker.." "Repeat that. Now." Mrs. Madell's voice was raised. "That's why we ended up with someone like you!" I screamed. I ran out of the class, tears coming. I blocked the door, as she tried to open it. I sobbed loudly when she stopped. "I did it.. I.. I'm like Rea.." I said quietly. But why does it hurt so much? I thought sadly.
