• Prologue Part 1

tab The darkness was eventually replaced by the sun passing through my eyelids. The sounds of wildlife and the swish of the leaves startled me, but I couldn't place what was bothering me. When it finally occurred to me that I shouldn't be in the forest but rather in Mall shopping for Mothers' Day gifts with my friends, I opened my eyes.

tab I found that I was laying on the floor of a forest whose trees stretched far into the sky. The trees spaced far apart and ground around me was covered in plants. Oddly enough, the plants and leaves alike were a deep purple color instead of being green. And that's not the only thing that had a different color. The sky above me was a black as void but it was clearly day.

tab Near the canopy of the forest, I spotted many crystals seemingly budding from the trees. They too were purple, which I soon came to understand was this world's life color, and were perfectly cut. Surrounding each little cluster of crystals was a small cloud, like a fog or mist, that was a brighter, more vivid, version of the purple used by everything else. Each little cloud seemed to dance and flow in an utterly mesmerizing fashion.

tab As I lay there staring at the strange sight above me, I saw a crystal break off of a tree and started falling to the ground. I quickly realized that if I didn't move, I was going to get a sharp gem lodged in my chest. I rolled to my left, stood up, and watched the falling gem lodge itself halfway into the ground. As I went to pick it up, I noticed that the bright energy seemed to be flowing out of it. When I did pick it up, it was a dull gem that cracked under the lightest of pressures.
