• Part 17

Yuffie sat in the car as curiosity started to creep in. First washing over her toes and up her legs in an effort to convince them to move and follow. The feeling keep continuing until she was on the edge of her seat trying to look into the building. There was not much that could be seen though the windows, and what was visible did not suggest that something interesting was going on. She knew this was not just some random bar, it was something more. Amos didn't appear to be in the front room so their must be a others. “I can't take waiting,” she mumbled and sat back into the seat. Her arms managed to brush across her cuts causing her to wince and tighten up. “Tonight is not my night, is it,” she grumbled to herself.

She looked down at the clock as it blinked away the seconds. He's been in there for 40minutes. “I cant take this,” Yuffie mumbled as she got antsy . Hastily she opened the car door and got out. She hesitated as her fingers were just about to touch the door nob. Thinking if she follow instructions and get back in the car or go in. Curiosity won the battle as she headed inside. The front room just looked like a your typical bar. What was Amos doing here? Did he need an alcohol fix or something. Yuffie moved though the room not trying to pop up on anyones radar. Which she doubted would work since her clothes were torn and dirty. Walking from one end of the room to the other she noticed another room was connected. Just about the time she made her way other there Amos walked out.

His eyes instantly narrowed into slits as Yuffie stood in front of him. “I told you to wait in the car,” he said headed back to the car. As Amos passed, she leaned over to take a sneak peek at the room. This room was bigger and decorated more then the first. There wasn't much that she could see with the quick look but there was something that shocked her. Amos had not been the only vampire in that room. She was unsure if they all weren't human but some definitely weren't. They weren't trying to hide it either.

“What were you doing in there?” Yuffie asked as she followed behind him.

“Business,” Amos said as if it explained everything, “I got you some gauze so we can patch you up.”

“Thanks...” she said wondering how many vampire/human bars had medical supplies. “What do you do?” she asked. Getting answers from this man was like pulling teeth.

“Legal stuff, Merges and things,” he replied as they headed out the front door and moved around to the passenger side door.

    “So your a lawyer?”

Amos laughed lightly as he opened the door for her. “No, more like politics of it.”

“Oh,..” she mumbled as she got into the car.

Amos slid into the drivers seat and with gauze is his hand said the most random thing she had heard in a while. “Pull up your shirt.”

“What? No!” Yuffie protested and put his arms around her torso which caused a bit of pain as a cut was squeezed.

“I'm not trying to hit on you,” Amos replied with a twinkle of amusement in his eyes, “I'm trying to fix you up so you don't bleed over my nice car.”

“How considerate of you,” Yuffie replied dryly.

“Mhm, your welcome.” Amos replied un-phased.

“Now up,” he said and gestured with a finger.

Yuffie gave a look then pulled the shirt up to the bottom of the bra. Amos ripped pieces of gauze off the roll and carefully pressed them to her cuts. Yuffie let out of breathe she was holding in. This wasn't so bad she thought.

“Plus, I know you'd be to excited if I really told you to take your shirt off.” Amos teased as he applied tape. Yuffie felt heat rise in her cheeks and suddenly it was worse then she thought.

“All right all done,” Amos said as Yuffie glared at him. His talent to amuse himself made her want to hit him. But it was something that she couldn't bring herself to do since he keep bailing her out. The car ride back home was silent. It was an awkward silence at lead them all the way to her drive away.

“Look Yuffie,” Amos said not as confidently as he generally sounds. “I'm going to disappear for a while. – I thought it might work before but you came looking.” Yuffie stared at his face as he talked. Amos on the other hand was avoiding direct eye contact. “I turned you so you could stay safe. Not so you can go out and get into more trouble.” Amos' eyes finally locked with hers. “Stay here. Live your life as you would have before. Please.”

The two once again sat silently in the car for minutes that felt like much more. “I should go now,” Amos said finally breaking the silence.

“I need to know one thing first,” Yuffie replied. She knew she couldn't make him stay if he didn't want so she wanted something answered. Out of the hundreds of questions there was only time for one.

    “Why me?”

Amos stated at her for a moment as if the question didn't register. She had almost given up on getting and answer when he replied. “You remind me of someone.”
