• . . . ~Pure Huntress~ . . .
    {Chapter 1}
    |Moving on|

    Let me go. . . .

    Some one . . .

    Please. . .

    Help me. . . .

I sat up with the worst feeling. It was a nightmare, a scary one. The reoccurring dream with the same scenes, with the same people. There was someone who keeps attacking me as the velvet moon stains the night red. The pain I feel at my neck almost feels real but when I wake up like this, I appear alright. Even though, I always check myself just in case. I looked out my window and saw the rain coming down. Maybe this will take my mind off things since I'm not eager to go back to sleep. I walked out from my covers and stepped onto the cold floor. I glimpsed at my digital clock which read three am. I sat at my window and watched the rain pour in the dim light. The rain was so calming I could dance in it all night. But to avoid looking like some kind of lunatic, I'll save it for another time. But wait, there's some one outside. I stood up to look more closely out the window and ran downstairs. I hope I didn't wake up Master Geo. I ran outside padding my feet along the wet ground and avoiding those I could fall in.

    There's no one here.

    Maybe I'm still half asleep.

I stood soaked in the rain as my nighty stuck to my body. I looked around for the person I saw but there wasn't anyone but me. Yeah, I'm probably tired and at least I got my mind on something else. I should dry myself before I get sick. I walked into my bathroom and got a towel then changed into some thing warm. I went back to bed, wishing that nightmare won't decide to bother me again . . . .

"GET UP LEIAH!!" I jolted up
    "Wah?!"
"Time for your training," Geo threw my katana sword to me
"But I didn't get enough sleep." I yawned
    "NOW." he slammed the door

Geo isn't family even though he looks to be my grandfather. He took me in after finding me bloody and weak. Apparently a vampire bit me but I didn't turn, which he has never seen in his life. Geo is a hunter who goes after all those that are seen as evil. He's hunted all sorts of things like vampires, werewolves, demons, witches and other hunters who fight for his target. He's been teaching me the skills of a hunter since I was ten. He was very strict about almost everything, but I respect him. After all he is all I've got that's even close to family.

I sluggishly got out of bed and changed into my uniform because after my hour of training I must dash to school.

    "Leiah, Fight!" he ordered

I stood in the fighters position with I my eyes on Master Geo who circled me. He strike me and I dodged and attack him.

Each and every tiring morning I have to battle him and learn new skills. He says I'm an excellent fighter but I need to concentrate and not let my guard down. Being a hunter is a very dangerous job which could end your life if you’re not paying attention. For him his hunting days are numbered. He's already old but he moves like a twenty year old. It worries me when he looks so sick and how he gets weak after each training. Master Geo tells me to get back to my training and walks off.

    He's the closest to family. . . .

"Good Job" He panted as he held his arm
    "Sorry master. . ." I said apologetically
"No it is only a minor cut, your skills are to it's strongest point. You no longer need any more training" he stood straight "I am proud of you---ugh!" he collapsed
"Master Geo!!" I ran to him
"L-Leiah. . . . I-I'm very proud of . .you" he smiled as his eyes slowly shut
    "M-Master. . . Geo. . .?!"

    He's gone. . . . .

The ambulance took him away in a bag. There was no siren as it left.

    He's really gone. . .

I stood alone in the training area. I guess I must go on without him, what am I to do now? Well he did train me to be a hunter so now I must continue to hunt like one. I walked inside and took my school bag and slid the sword in it's case, pulling it over my shoulder. I basically bring my sword with me every where since it is allowed, for a hunter.

No one else knows what I do. . . .

I walked to school as the rain poured like some one threw a bucket of water over me. This kind of heavy rain I dislike. When I got to school I walked inside my classroom drenched. The teacher brought his attention to me as I sat.

"Good morning Leiah, how's Master Geo?" he asked
    ". . . .He's dead“ I said as I looked down

Master Geo was known by many and respected highly. It was he who saved this town from the terrors who killed and stirred during night. They weren't just vampires, they was the demons, witches and werewolves. They were all destroyed, except those who lived secretly in peace.

". . . . . That, is very unfortunate" Mr. Lore bowed his head as he prayed

Only a few knew what Master Geo really did, like Mr. Lore. Others just knew him as "The Dojo Master". Good thing all those people graduated before his leaving.

"Then I shall pay my respects to him after school" he looked up and got back to the board

I sat in my chair as my drops of water dripped from my hair and clothing. This day just gets worst buy the minute.

    “Hey” whispered a voice
"Mn?" I turned to the person
"How'd he die? I mean like, even a thousand daggers couldn't stop him" the girl said
    "He just became sick"
"Oh? Then I'm really sorry about it"
"There was nothing that could be done" I returned my eyes to the board
"I was one of his students and he was a good master. Is it okay if I hang out with you?"

This girl seemed nice. she had brown hair and green eyes with fair skin. Her personality tells that she doesn't speak out often.

    ". . . Sure, I guess" I agreed
    "I'm Rebecca" she smiled
"I'm Leiah" I looked to her

At recess I walked down the halls as heard my name being called. It was Rebecca, the one I spoke to this morning. Oh yeah, I remember. I agreed to hang out with her. She said she was one of Master Geo's students at the dojo.

"Hey, so how did you know Master Geo?" she walked next to me
". . . He took me in when I was young and he's been looking after me since" I answered
"Oh, so did he teach you how to use that sword?" she pointed to the case
    "Yeah, he taught me well"
"What are you going to do with it? Kill witches and demons?" she laughed
"Maybe" I looked to her with a smirk
"Heh, whatever. Besides there's no such thing"
    "You'd be surprised" I muttered

I guess Rebecca wasn't much of a true believer which is a good thing. Knowing to much can actually get you killed. A lot actually happens in this area without the knowledge of those who live around here. There's a lot of history in this town which hasn't been recorded. Most of it has been in Master Geo's memories. He was the one who vanquished all the things that harmed the people of this town. But ever since I was cared for, he'd put that aside. So I need to work hard and protect my home town.
