• CHARPTER 1
LIFE AS IT USED TO BE
Here we are in the depths of hell, as the world was be destroyed, by the four horsemen. As they made earthquakes, volcanos and tsunamis, they destroyed everything and anything in their path. The world looking like it was finally at an end, the last chance of humanity would have to be the 5 legendary monks that drew power from the five elements; Fire, Water, Light, Nature and Darkness. Some say it was just a legend; it was over 1000 years ago when they were last seen so humanity was lost. When all hope seemed gone from existence a bright light shone through the black unforgiving clouds of hell, the 5 legendary monks came to stop the four horsemen but they were already too late. The only way to save everyone on earth was to use the power of the elemental beam, but the attack can only used once for if it was used the monks would die, but it was a sacrifice that the monks were willing to make. Well, except for the darkness monk who had always wanted the human race to be erased from existence. So, he vanished from the fight, never to be seen again. The other four monks kept fighting the four horsemen. Try as they might they could not win. They found that they would have to try and use the elemental beam without the darkness monk. They found after they all conjoined their energy that they were not strong enough, and were powerless against the Horsemen’s power. So, as a last desperate attempt to save the human race, they locked the four Horsemen away, until they found the ones that would be able to banish the four Horsemen forever.
    CHAPTER 2
    WATER CLAN
Here we are 1000 years later, and we are still waiting for the next 5legendary monks. The ones chosen by the original monks to finish what they could not. Our first story starts with the journey for the next water monk. The water monks powers were always the strongest for they had the power to give life, but it can also take it away just as easy. The water clan is very small for all the people have to be trusted with the power and also they have to be able to have control over the power. At the start the human chosen thought that all her destiny had shown her was a chance to join the ranks of some of the greatest water battlers that the world had ever known. But as she will soon find out, she will be chosen to undertake a journey to save the world.
Rebecca walked through the colosseum walls and looked around, the usual players were scattered around waiting for their chance to battle. Her eye caught a familiar face and she smiled, of course he would be here. I don’t think I have ever seen him miss one of my matches she thought as she walked over to the red figure leaning against the door on the far side of the colosseum. As she drew closer she noticed that he was talking to someone that was standing on his left. This other man was tall, he looked about 26 and he had long black hair that ran down his back. It was almost as black as the night sky. She couldn’t see his eyes for he was wearing black glasses. She noticed that most of what he was wearing was black, and this included a long black coat, black jeans and a dark purple turtleneck top.
As she drew nearer she could see Rusty getting visibly angrier as she got closer. “I told you, I don’t want to do this! Now if you don’t mind i have a match to watch.” Rusty tried to escape and walk away from the tall figure but as he turned the other man snatched out and grabbed Rusty’s arm. It hurt and Rusty flinched but when he saw her walking over to him he quickly hid it. “What’s going on here?” Rebecca asked as she drew closer. She looked over to the tall man and noticed that he had taken his glasses off and was staring at her with a very peculiar expression. “Ummm...yes?” She stared back at him with a scrutinized look. She folded her arms and started tapping the toe of her shoe, getting impatient.’
“What’s your name?” he asked. She took a step back and looked at Rusty before saying quietly, “Um...Rebecca.” The man took a step closer to her until he was standing right in front of her. “Rebecca? Is that what you said?” He put a hand under her chin and lifted it up towards the light. He scrutinized her face, “Hmm... maybe. Maybe not.” He let his hand drop and looked over to Rusty, “I believe we have found our Water substitute.” Rusty looked at her, he was visibly surprised. He didn’t try to hide it this time. “Rebecca Stone, please come to the battle station. Your match is on next.” Rebecca looked up towards the speaker above her head and looked back at Rusty and the man and said, “Look, I’m sorry but I have to go.” She turned and started to walk away. A hand reached out a pulled her back towards them, she didn’t realise until she saw that the man had grabbed her. “My name is Knight. Please remember it. I will talk to you after your match.” He let go and walked backwards into the shadows until all that she could see was a flash as he put his glasses back on.
“Rebecca Stone, please come to the battle station. Your match is up next.” Dazed and confused she made her way towards a stone tablet that was up to her hips. It was painted blue, like the rest of the ground. She caught her reflection in the window of the private box and flinched at herself. Her dyed blue hair looked disgusting in this light but when she turned her head to the side she guessed it looked alright. Sort of like an ocean blue. Her grey eyes didn’t stand out much and she thought of Knight’s black hair and wished she could have hair like that. Then her eyes really would make a statement. Her blue shirt was tucked into a short blue plaid skirt with a large dark blue belt rapped gracefully around her waist. She could always make herself look good.
A cough interrupted her thoughts and she turned to find she was standing right where she should be and that the match had managed to start while she was daydreaming. She clumsily picked up a card from her deck and placed a monster card down on the field. She played as good as she usually did whenever she played her counterpart Eric, but today something was off. She didn’t know if it was Knight or what but she wasn’t herself today. After managing to just slide by with an almost scary win she walked back to where she saw Rusty, still leaning against the wall, talking to Knight again. She sighed as she walked over to them. As she got closer she overheard hem say, “I don’t want her involved in any of this! Don’t make her do it, she’s not a strong Monk or anything.” She felt hurt by Rusty’s tone of voice and the way he was speaking about her, “Don’t make her try to find your stupid cards. Don’t make her try to bring back the Water Monster and DON’T, and I mean DON’T tell her anything to do with the prophecy.” She stopped dead. Her hands went cold right to the bone. She didn’t need Knight or Rusty to explain what she had just heard, even if Rusty made it clear he didn’t want me knowing. She already knew, her Aunt Widow told her when she was a baby as a way to get her to sleep. She racked her brain trying to remember. Something about monks....and Horsemen....and something about the elements.
Rusty turned around and caught her watching, “What are you doing here?” His tone hurt her. He had never spoken to her before like that. “I know all about the prophecy. About the Monks who tried to stop the four Horsemen but the Darkness Monk left before they could,” Her eyes flickered over to Knight, “I already know everything. You think I’m the Water Monk?” she pointed to Knight and he looked her dead in the eye and replied simply, “Yes, you are.”
