• THE CURSE OF LOVE

In the world of Zane Johnson has been a down way trip to the end of what he loves.
In the year of 1996, Zane Johnson was born. Young infant, 6 LB 5 ounces, 20 inches, kind and cute. Throughout his years growing up as a kid, his life wasn’t much of a problem. His family is rich, full of luxuries, like a spendthrift. They resembled most like a squander like family. He has gotten everything he’s ever wanted. Nothing has ever been priceless in his life. Every girl has been attracted to Zane (literally a girl magnet). But there is one thing he has never able to get in his life. LOVE. Even though every girl has been crushing on him, he only loves one. Her name is Tori. She has undying love for Zane too, but it’s too much to say about them.
When young Zane was born, the doctors and physicians discovered a problem with Zane. He had developed a massive case ADHD. He wasn’t much hyperactive, but on occasions, it is possible that Zane’s problem would get out of hand. He would go berserk. This type of disease Zane has can cause massive mental problems in the brain, which then sends massive amounts of adrenaline, other hormones, and energy throughout his body which causes his mind to become crazed and berserk. His parents have taken him to some of the world’s most famous neurosurgeons in the world. No one could help. His parents were hopeless and thought about giving Zane up for adoption, but one day, a psychic they came across knew what could help.
“He has a most interesting disease, indeed. I know what might make it go away…… for a price of course” said the psychic nostalgic.
“ANYTHING!” said Zane’s parents in unison.
“I shall put a remedy on him,” said the psychic.
    “Remedy?” said his dad.
“And a curse….” said the psychic with a grim smile.
    “Curse?” asked his mom
“Of course! That’s the remedy itself! If you don’t want your son cured, then I hav-”
“We’ll do it!” said both of his parents.
“Excellent! I shall start!” said the psychic. She looked at the anxious parents “But do you mind? I need privacy.”
    “Daddy……” said Zane
“Listen to me Zane, you’ll be alright,” said his dad.
Both of Zane’s parents exited the room with anxiety and nervousness. The “remedy” took only a few minutes, which seemed like years to his parents. The parents entered the room, but they were calm. The psychic was gone. Zane was there lying on the floor.
His mom said, “My baby!!” She wrapped her arms around Zane, feeling so emotional. “Are you okay?”
    “Yes mommy,” said Zane.
Zane’s dad peered into there money vault that was in the mansion they lived in on the upper level. Every dollar, every coin, was gone.
“Um, honey!” said his dad from the upstairs.
    “Yes?” she replied.
“We……… have no more money left!” said his dad. There was a pause of silence.
“We should’ve haggled or tried bartering! I knew that smugly look on her face was no good!” said his dad coming down. He treaded loudly down while waking up the neighbors. “It doesn’t matter now! Are son is okay! Honey! Zane! What was the curse!?” said his mom.
“All I heard was ‘Love’, ‘Kiss’ and ‘Hurt’” said Zane.
There was no more talk after that.

The years have past and now Zane is 13 to this date. And he still has the same love for Tori. It was the beginning of Science class. The instructor was Mrs. Baker, a great teacher who has taught Zane and his friends for years, since 6th grade to be exact. The assignment today: Pair up and make a diagram of a type of bacteria. Of course, everyone knew who to pair up with. Every girl wanted to be partners with Zane, but he rejected them all. He said he rather work alone. Unfortunately, this could not happen. It HAD to be a partner’s assignment. The only two people who didn’t have a partner: Zane and Tori. Mrs. Baker had made them partners because no one else was left. They sat down next to each other, with there given assignment. Tori tried to start a conversation.
“So……… how are you doing Zane?” asked Tori.
    He didn’t answer.
“Oh. So you’re the silent type, huh?” asked Tori again.
He nodded. A few moments passed.
“But I saw you talking to those girls. So why not me?”
    Zane gave a shrug,
“You don’t know? Well that’s okay with me, I don’t expect you to retort an answer anytime soon,” said Tori being sarcastic. She really wanted to get Zane to speak. Zane did all the work while Tori was going on about her life. He smiled at funny parts, sat in dismay at the sad parts. Eventually, class ended. It was Mr. Burbey’s class next. He taught Language Arts A.
“So, Zane, I’ll see you around?” asked Tori anxiously.
    He nodded a sincere nod.
Tori smiled. “I hope this isn’t a problem or anything.”
    Zane just gave a smile.
“Okay. I’ll see you soon. Bye!” said Tori. She walked away in love. So was Zane.

The next day, Tori talked to one of Zane’s friends, Dallas, into getting Zane to talk to her.
“Hey! Dallas! Could you come here for a sec!” said Tori from all the way across the room.
Dallas came right away. “Yeah? What do you need?”
“How come Zane is quite around me?” asked Tori anxiously.
Dallas had his eyes wide open. “I text you why. I can’t say it in public.”
“Why?” asked Tori again, but this time curious.
“Just cause! Okay? I got to go now,” said Dallas in a hurry to get to Mrs. Hansen’s class.

After the school day ended, Tori had gotten the text from Dallas:
Okay, here’s the deal. The reason Zane can’t talk to you is because, well cursed. At a young age, his parent to him to a psychic. He has a serious case of ADHD. The reason Zane can’t talk to you is because, he loves you. The curse was, “If you ever fall in love with a girl, and you kiss her, your disease will come back and your hyperactive actions shall come back. You shall never nor even speak to the girl” or so that is what Zane told me. I don’t believe it, but Zane strongly agrees with it. This is the reason you wanted to know and now you know.

Tori couldn’t believe this, but it’s true to Zane. He strongly believes in it. She had text Dallas back:
Tell him to meet me at my house tonight. Tell him we have to get caught up on the project for Mrs. Baker. Tell him five o’clock.

And Dallas did. He told Zane everything that was in Tori’s text. The rest of the school day was long for Torii, but she could handle it. The afternoon soon did come and so did Zane. Of course, he didn’t talk. Torii showed Zane in to the living room. He laid his backpack on the couch, taking out the project. Tori took his hand.
“Let’s not do the project yet,” said Tori pushing the project back into Zane’s pack.
    Zane had one eyebrow up.
“I just want to talk,” said Tori calm. Of course, Zane wouldn’t.
“I know the last couple of days have been weird. I don’t mean to intrude in your life, but Dallas told me about this curse.”
Zane had his eyes wide open.
    “Dallas told me,” said Torii.
Zane’s face was full of anguish.
“Don’t be mad at him. I asked him.”
    Zane was curious now.
“It doesn’t have to be like this. It’s just a silly curse. It isn’t a benefactor in your life.”
It didn’t help at all with what Zane was thinking.
“May this might help?” She leaned in, trying to kiss Zane. That was it. Zane couldn’t resist, not even the most hardy of men could resist there loves kisses. This wasn’t an unsound feeling. It was love.

    They kissed.

Zane couldn’t believe what he has done. He has breached the curse. It was about to happen. Zane pulled away.
“DO YOU REALIZED WHAT YOU HAVE DONE?!” shouted out Zane.
“I got you to talk?” said Tori in low tone.
“NO!!!!” said Zane. His eyes were turning a tint gold.
Tori backed away nervous. She was sweating, but stayed calm. Zane approached her, almost stomping. A tight grip came around her body. It wasn’t a crushing feeling though. It was a loving grip. It was a hug.
“I’m sorry….” said Zane in a low tone.

    I. Love. You. Three simple words Tori could read off of Zane’s lips.

Tori then finally said, “I love you, too.”
The hug lasted only a few seconds. Tori wished that it would last an eternity. “But we can’t. I can’t.”
    Tori was shocked.
“Maybe……. we’re not meant to be,” said Zane.
“But we love each other!” argued Tori.
“I know, but we can’t. I still have the curse.”
“I don’t care about the curse! I only care about you!”
Zane had a look of dismay. “I’m……. sorry.” He started to tear up. Then it became a cry. “I’m sorry.”
Tori started to cry. Her voice was breaking up. “W-Why?”
“I will never find a cure,” said Zane.
“WE can, Zane, and we will!” said Tori with full understanding.
Zane had picked up his backpack while Tori was speaking. He put on his ear buds and turned on his I-Pod Touch and left “Not Meant to be” by Theory of a Dead Man. Tori stopped herself, from going on. She could hear the song. Maybe Zane was right. Maybe they’re not meant to be.
