• Chapter 8.

I woke up the next morning dazed. Brandin and I had spent the remander of the day seeing what or if I had any powers at all. So far, nothing. By evening when I finally had to say good bye, Brandin just smiled and said we would try again tomorrow. However, I know he is disappointed. It would be so cool if I had some control thing, then I could be like a superhero without the tights!

Oh well, maybe I was a flunk. Maybe some crazy genetic thing happened so I don't have any of my father's genes, or maybe Brandin got everything all messed up with my father. It would be nice to think that the reason why my father left us was for the "greater good" or whatever, but in reality he probably was just a confused, coward who didn't know how to take care of a family, or maybe he just had an affair or something. He never told.

I got out of bed and took a shower and then changed into a T-shirt and sweatpants. Another day to got through. I brushed my hair into a ponytail and headed downstairs to grab an energy bar and an apple. My mom said goodbye, and then I ran out the door and into my good old car. Same old routinue, except this time, as I flew down the road in my car to school, another car headed towards me...very fastily.

I slammed on the brakes, hoping I would stop in time but that only made matters worse. My poor car started skidding all around the road, right towards the on-coming car. I started screaming, not knowing what to do, as I was surrounded by chaos. I would die right after I finally got the guy. Stupid life.

Then, right before I hit the fastily coming SUV, something really, REALLY weired happened. I closed my eyes and got this humming noise in my head. I swear, all of this was done unvoluntairly too. That's when I felt it. This sort of tingling sensation spread throughout all of my body. I can't really describe what it was, except it felt like energy was pulsing through me. JOnce it had started felling my body in with energy, it started going outword so that it was covering everywhere around me. In a split-second, it had all of my car in this sort of bubble. I opened my eyes to see the blue SUV hitting my car, but bouncing off and swirving left, where the driver finally put on the brakes. I slammed on the brakes again, and this time (thankfully) they worked too. My car came to a stop and very slowly, the energy started coming pack into my body again. It was like it was reclining, back into my mind.

I started hypervientaling (sorry not sure how to spell that) as I looked out my window at the SUV on the side of the road. It looked like it had gone through hell. I unbuckled my seat belt and hurried to the smoking SUV where a I saw a middle aged woman, with a cell phone in her hands, and blood dribbling down her forehead. I pulled her out and laid her on the ground away from the car. At that time, I was also in shock too about what had just happened, so naturally it took me 10 minutes to remember to call 911.
