• The Doctor beckoned me to come out. I slowly came from behind the rock as the leader started to walk away with the rest of the tribe.
“What did Merlin mean by “Doctor of Gallifrey”?” I asked as we walked closely behind.
“Gallifrey is the home of the Time lords,” he answered back.
“Oh cool!” I said, “Can we go there? That would be awesome. More time lords like your self!” He fell silent after that.
“Nah,” he answered, “There’s plenty of more exciting places to go like the water planet Anura or the dark, hostile, jungle planet Eden.”
    “Eden sounds pretty exciting.”
“Oh! Just wait until you see the Mandrels! Those things creep me out.”

We walked on for a little while longer. I thought we’d never get to the natives home.
“Hey Doctor?” I asked, “I thought you said only a couple of trips.”
    “I did.”
“Well when you were talking about Eden and Anara…”
    “Anura,” he corrected me.
“Anura,” I repeated as I gave him a slight slap on the arm, “It seemed like to me you are gonna take me on more trips then you said you were.”
“Eh,” he said, “Maybe I’ll keep you around for a while longer.”
“Really!?” I asked with a huge smile on my face.
“Sure, it’s not every day when a teenager gets to go time traveling.”
“Thank you!” I said as I gave him a big hug.

After about another ten minutes, we arrived at this small village. It looked almost torn down. As we walked through the village, we saw babies starving and older people sick and dying. This place was not in good shape. There was no telling what would happen next.

Taurus gave us a small tent to sleep in for the night. For the rest of the day, the Doctor was out with Taurus, I spent my time with the old lady, Mandrilla, and her granddaughter, Ambrosia. She was 3 years younger than me but we didn’t talk much. I didn’t know how to talk to a native from thousands of years ago.

I felt like I was back at home, playing Indians with my sisters. But luckily once again I didn’t have to imagine it.

The Doctor came back after dark.
“How was your day?” I asked him.
“We are staying for a bit that’s for sure.” He said as he flopped on a pile of furs.
    “What did you find out?”
“I didn’t find out anything. That’s exactly why we are staying. That person who calls himself Merlin doesn’t seem like the actual Merlin to me.” He put some more twigs in the small fire in there to keep it burning.
“What makes you say that?” I asked him.
    “I don’t know…time lord instinct I think.”
I scoffed, “Time lord instinct huh?”
    “Yeah, so?”
“Nothing,” I answered, “Goodnight.” I reached for a blanket that Mandrilla had made and laid my head on another pile of furs and closed my eyes.
“Goodnight,” he answered back. Soon after that, I was asleep.

“Rise and shine!” came the Doctors voice too early in the morning.
“No,” I mumbled, “Leave me be.”
“No can do. Merlin is here and talking to the villagers. We need to be out there.”
“You go without me,” I said still half asleep. He pulled the blanket off me.
“Not going to do that Cerridwen,” he said, “Come on!” He said that over and over again until it got on my nerves, so I eventually got up.

We went outside in the freezing cold. It seemed colder than that night at the police station. We walked towards a huge group of natives who seemed to be worried. They were all running around panicking.
“What’s going on?” the Doctor asked the frantic Taurus.
    “Merlin…he killed Mandrilla!”
I was shocked at this news. I really got to know her the day before.
“What?!” I asked. “Now that is most definitely not the Merlin I’ve been obsessed with through the years.” I thought. Maybe the Doctors so called, “Time lord instinct” was correct.
