• Chapter 6
I could remember a strange feeling from before I woke up. I heard a strange and unknown voice. It was laughing with a psychotic tone in it. I saw a girl with tangled hair and bruises covering every inch of her skin. When she lifted her head, it was like total shock to my system.
We both had piercing green eyes and long jet black hair. The girl had a black eye and a broken nose. She was covered in dried up blood on her arms and legs and looked haggard, wrung out, and rundown. I was completely taken aback. I didn’t want to see this, I didn’t want to see, what I assumed, was my future. It was to much for me to handle.
I was snapped back to the present by Damien shaking me vigorously.
“Camren, come on snap out of it! I don’t want to lose you, I just got you back. Please, I love you far too much. You are the most important thing in my life. Come on, don’t give up now, fight it.” he said. His voice broke twice.
I understood why he was panicking. My heart rate was dangerously low. I shook off the stupor and my heart rate returned to normal.
“I’m sorry. I was lost in space. I want to know if they have gotten anywhere with the case. I don’t want anyone else to get hurt. Especially you two. I can’t imagine my life without the two of you. It’s not possible for me to do that.” I said with tears in my eyes.
He wanted to comfort me, but didn’t know how to do it so he settled for hugging me fiercely. I remembered Jaime and told her to come over. She looked like she’d been crying for days. I hugged her and started to cry. Something inside me told me that something horrible was about to happen.
