• In the small town of Westville, Florida where I grew up there was nothing ever to do and me and my two brothers where as close as we could be. The most exciting thing that had happened this year was Amy broke up with Jack. That was until I got into 11th grade. My class was going to Paris. It was all I could think of for the whole year. Our teacher told us we all needed to be on our best behavior.
May 1st. We all were saying goodbye to our parents. The car ride to the airport was so long and the whole way there, I could not stop thinking that someone was watching me. I know that there was no way someone was watching me, I was just novice about leaving. This was going to be the first time I was leaving for this long. We were going to be in Paris for three weeks. It was going to be so much fun, just me and my best friend Jill.
I picked Jill up at 7:30 am that morning. When I got to her house, her mom invited me in to have something to eat before we leave. We ate a nice country meal. Jiss’s mom never let anyone who ever interred her leave with an empty stomach. By the time Jill and me, left it was 8:00 am. Our plane was going to leave at 9:00 so we didn’t have to drive fast. We talked about how much fun we were going to have. “Jill, do you think we are going to have as much fun there as we do here?” I asked. “No, we are going to have so much more.” Jill was so much fun to have around. You could help but smile when you where around her. We got to the airport at 8:20. We were getting on plane 7B. We were just sitting in the loading bay when Jill leaned real close to me and said “Eve there is a real cute guy staring at you.” Where is he? I asked. “He’s four seats to your right in the row in front of you.” Don’t look yet. About five minutes latter Jill told me to look. She was right he was a looker.
He had to be at least six and a half foot tall. He had black hear. Pale skin and he looked like one of those rick people. When I was done giving him a once over he looked up and that’s when I saw his blue eyes. I couldn’t look away and the more I looked at him the more I wanted to meet him. When it was getting too much for Jill to handle, she nudged my shoulder. Huh? Was my only response. “I was getting worried about you. You looked like you were about to stand up and go talk to him.” His name is Marcus. How would u know that? I … I don’t know. I just know it. They stated boarding the plane then.
Jill and I were in row fifteen seats A and B. Jill wanted the window set so I sat in the middle. Hey maybe if you’re lucky Marcus will have the set next to you. However, a short man started to sit down, when someone cleared there throat. I think that this is my seat. The short man and I looked up at the same time. It was Marcus, the short man started to say something when Marcus repeated, “I think this is my seat.” The man stood up and said your right my seat is in the back. Thank you for telling me that. He said and left. Marcus sat down, and looked at me throw the corner of his eye and smiled. Hi, I’m Eve. I’m… Oh, you’re Marcus. A look of shock came to his face whish quickly turned to a sly grin. Yes, I am, and how do u know that? I …I don’t know. We didn’t say much after that.
The plane took off ten minutes after that. Even though I was reading one of my favorite books Past the Oak Tree by Sam Patrick I could tell he was looking at me. I wanted to look at him so I put my book back in my carry on and looked at him. So why are you going to Paris? The question made him laugh, “Well I’m going there to just have a good time.” Yep he was rich. People just don’t go to Paris for the fun of it. Why are you going? He asked, because my class and I are going to see the sites. Oh, the places you can see in Paris are never ending; I should know I go there all the time.
We talked for an hour then he asked Jill if she could close the blind. You see I didn’t get much sleep and the sun keeps me up. Jill was going to close it anyway we were both tiered to. Marcus fell asleep as soon as his eyes were closed. Jill and I were not so fast to fall asleep. I must have been more tiered then I thought because I slept for six hours. When I woke up, I had a placket loosely tucked around me. I looked at Jill and asked, “How did this get on me.” Jill looked at me and said “Marcus put it on you; he must have thought you looked cold to him.” Where is he? He’s in the bathroom. Oh well I need to think him, that was so nice of him. A minute later Marcus sat back down, did you sleep well Eve? He asked. Yes, I did, and did you? Yes, I slept well, thank you. No thank you, you didn’t have to put this blanket on me. Well you looked cold. It was the right thing to do. He said with that same sly grin...
