• The early morning sun shone through the class room window. It's warm orange glow shining on my desk and several others near me. Many of the students in my class had been talking loudly over one another that morning. I remember hearing Kate, the popular girl in school, announce she had a new boyfriend; which made three that week.
Her friends giggled and cheered her on, my friend Matt sighed and placed hte book he was reading down on his desk and pushed his black glasses up his nose. His blue eyes looking down at his hands for a moment then towards Kate.
"It's sad when you have a third boyfriend in one week." He muttered low enough for only he and I to hear. I laughed and looked towards Kate. Her golden blond hair shining in the orange glow of the sunlight laid flat down her back, her lips glossed with a light pink color. She was almost every man's dream that went to our school, or so she thought anyways. Sure a lot of guys wanted to date her but there were a few who didn't, such as Matt, who had his eyes one Holly.
As Matt and I sat there in class listening to the conversations of the students around us we heard a few girls in the hallway squilling. Three lower graded girl ran into our class and were beaming with smiles that stretched ear to ear.
"Did any of you hear? There's a new student here at Bayview!" They shrieked. All the girls ran up to them to ask questions. I sat in my desk with my hands folded under my chin watching them all carefully trying to figure out what the big deal was. I finally sighed and leaned running a hand through my hair and ruffling it up a little.
"It's a new student for crying out loud. You're all making it into a huge thing when it's not." I shouted above them all.
They all turned to look at me with wide eyes. Kate glared and flipped her perfectly straight hair.
"You just made because everyone is afraid of your Aya. You really pitiful you know that right." She sneered.
I rolled my eyes and looked at Matt. "Are you afraid of me?" I asked him playfully.
Matt smiled and shook his head. "Oh no, please don't hurt me Aya, I'll give you all my lunch money."
We busted out laughing and seen Kate sigh and roll her eyes. "So pitiful." She muttered to her friends.
A few of them nodded and glanced back at me, I jolted my shoulders towards them as if I were about to attack, the jumped and turned quickly back to the lower class men.
Mr. Wright came into the classroom and sent the two girls away and everyone to their seat.
He placed his bag next to the podium and looked over the class.
"Good morning class. Today we have a new student joining out class. Please allow me to introduce Bryor."
All the students except for Matt, a few other male students and I, leaned up in their seats to try and see him.
At first no one came through the door until Mr. Wright motioned him inside.
That's when He walked in, a tall male student about 6'1", slender body that held some tone of muscle. His hair was about the length of his chin, it was shaggy as if he had just taken his hands and tossed it, and the color of the darkest night.
I couldn't see his eyes because of his hair, but his lips were a soft pink. He bit his bottom lip as if nervous and waved slightly.
"Hello, I'm Bryor. I'm new to this school so please take care of me."
Mr. Wright smiled and looked at the class then back to Bryor.
"Please, tell us a little about yourself."
Bryor looked around the class before he spoke. "I'm sorry Mr. Write, but I do not feel comfortable talking of such things."
Mr. Write smiled. "That's perfectly fine. Please find an empty seat and take it."
Bryor nodded and looked around again. I sighed looking to Matt and then smiled. "Lets see how long it takes Kate to hook him."
Matt nodded and flipped to the next page of his book. I turned back to the front of the class to see the new kid heading my way. I looked next to me to find an empty seat. I sighed and laid my head down on my desk. Bryor took the seat next to me but didn't say anything.
Mr. Write was about to start when he remembered he had forgotten something in his car. When he left everyone swarmed over and around him. I sighed becoming very irritated with all the noise. I stood quickly causing my chair to fly behind me and my desk to go a few inches a head of me. Everyone stopped talking and looked at me.
"Can you all just shut up? You're all so annoying." I said pinching the bridge of my nose.
Kate rolled her eyes and turned back to Bryor. "I'm Kate, If you hang with me and my friends you'll be known as the nice kids and everyone will love you." I grunted and made my way to the classroom door.
"Then there's Aya's gang. You don't want to get involved with them, their delinquents and everyone is afraid of them. I also heard Aya sells her body for money to help her drugged out mommy."
I stopped in my tracks and turned back to the group. "What did you just say?" I asked through clenched teeth.
I started to make my way back towards her.
"That's enough." a voice came from the middle of the crowd.
Bryor stood up and looked at Kate. "That's enough. I don't want to hear rumours, I'll hang out with who I want and who ever will take me in as their friend."
Kate looked at him wide eyed and then smiled. "I'll take you in, we'll always welcome you into our circle."
I gritted my teeth and punched the desk close to me then stormed out of the room.
