• He sat in his room, staring at the wall, a blank expression on his face. He's been sitting there all day, thinking about her and their lives together up until the tragic point that obliterated his life, occuring only the night before. The date is February fourteenth, Valentines Day. His parents are out on a date, sister gone with her boyfriend, his friends hanging out at the movies. But he sits alone, thinking about what today would have been like if she hadn't left him.

He had been planning ever since December to make this Valentines Day extra special. He was going to take her to the movie she's been talking about seeing ever since it came out. Luckily at the time she hadn't been able to see it yet so he bought some tickets to it on the eleventh. He knew that she'd love it but he wanted to suprise her on Valentines Day with them, as only her first of many gifts he'd give her. The next gift would be going out to dinner afterwards.

He planned to take her to a small mexican restraunt that he goes to all the time. She had told him when they first met, "I love tacos! Do you??" An intresting introduction but afterwards they became friends. Remembering the early days a small smile spread across his face and he hunched over in his seat, laying his head on his hands, thinking about earlier times between them.

Back when they were still kids, around the age of twelve or thirteen, they hung out together almost everyday. They had been going to the same school for many years but had only met later at a small dance held monthly for kids to meet new friends and hang out with their other friends. They seemed inseperable and the best of friends until he asked her out one day. She smiled at him and replied, "Only if you take me out for some tacos!" She giggled as he laughed and they had gone out for almost four years by now. At this point he has leaned farther back into his chair as he started to remember a more recent event.

On the eleventh he not only bought her tickets to the movie theater. He also went to a jewler shop and bought her an engagement ring. He saved up ever since he first told her he loved her. After that he decided this is the girl that he wanted to spend his life with. He saved up for the ring for three years and decided to ask her to marry him at the mexican restraunt. He sighed and thought about the day she broke up with him.

The night before, he called her and told her he had some really great plans for Valentines Day. She was silent and he was sure he could hear her crying softly. He asked her what was wrong naturally and she replied saying that she was sorry and she hung up on him. He ran out to his car worried and drove off to her house and ran up to her room. Upon oppening the door she gasped and yelled at him to get out. Confused, he asked her what was wrong with her and she broke down into tears and told him that she didnt love him. That she only said that she did so that he wouldnt get hurt. That she was really in love with someone else and had been with him secretly for the past year. Heartbroken, he left her room and returned to his. He sat there all night and throughout the next day, not letting anyone in his room or telling anyone what was wrong.

He pulled out the ring he kept in the drawer in his desk and looked at it, thinking about her. He then held it in his hand and laid his head down and shut his eyes. He slowly fell asleep and dreamed of her, of what their day would have been like if they were still together, if she loved him, and what their lives would have been growing up together. After sleeping for hours, he woke up only to realize that all he saw was just a dream. He wanted it to be real and even if it wasn't, he wanted to live in the illusion for the rest of his life. He thought long about what to do and after hours of consideration, he took out his cell and sent out a text message to all the people he cared about saying he loved them. Then he sent a message to the girl he loved and told her to come by the house and pick up the present he has for her on his desk.

She recieved his text message and decided she should go to see what he had meant. She didn't expect him to want her to have a gift after what she told him. She walked to her car and drove to his house. She knocked on the door to his home and the sister answered and let her in. The mom was crying on the couch and the dad was holding her, she noticed that the girl looked as if she had also been crying. She decided not to ask what had happened to not start more crying so she acended the stairs to his room. She opened the door and saw him laying in his bed and a small box on the desk. She walked over to it and read a note ontop that said, "I love you, please take this ring that I bought you to remember me by... I love you so much, and I'm so very sorry for what I've done." She started to open the box confused about why he was apologizing to her. She found the ring in the box and took it out, inspecting it. She then heard the door open and she turned around to see his sister. The sister told her what had happened to him then walked out silently. The girl sat at his desk and looked at the ring and began to cry then held it tightly in her hand. She was cursing quietly to herself, telling herself she was stupid and other things, only muffled by loud sobs that escaped her mouth.

A week later, the familly of both the boy and the girl gathered at a cemetary. Some were quiet, others were crying loudly. All were hurt. Two bodies were laid to rest, in a single coffin they share together eternally, in an illusion of happiness.
