• Chapter1

“Ugh, my head.”, I rubbed the back of my head where the throbbing was, and was horrified, I felt it was wet and when I looked at my hand I could see the blood pooling on it, even in the dark place I was being held. Everywhere else I was dry though. How long have I been in here?

I tried to get up, but the chains held me back. “Damn it!”, I shouted. I didn’t care who heard me now, they knew I was here. I sat down against the cold stone wall carefully and waited, someone was bound to come soon.

Suddenly, the metal door creaked open and the lights flickered on. I looked at the man who brought me here and nearly died laughing. I definitely was not laughing at his size because he was big and I was definitely not laughing at his appearance because he was gorgeous, but I was laughing at who he was. My ex-boyfriend, Rian!

“What in hell is so funny Angel?!”, he was obviously angry because his light sky blue eyes turned to a dark royal blue, full of raw emotion. Which, of course, made me laugh even harder.

“You!”, I managed to screech in between laughing fits. “Of all the people in your kingdom you come to capture me?! That is sooo funny! Let me guess, it was your father who told you to get me because you ‘disgraced’ him by being romantically involved with the rival kingdom’s princess. Is that it?”

“Yes.”, he replied though clenched teeth. Then his eyes widened and returned to their sky blue color. “You’re bleeding.”, he whispered.

Then I noticed the sensation of blood running down my neck and smirked. “Oh really? I hadn’t noticed.”

“Don’t get smart with me Angel! You know, usually prisoners would be a little bit more respectful to their captors. Especially when their captors are showing them concern.”

“Well you know what Rian, I would probably be a little more respectful to my captor, if he wasn’t my ex-boyfriend!”

“Whatever, I’ll get someone in here to take a look at your head.”

“That would be helpful, thanks.” I was extremely frustrated and I could feel the heat in my face. I hate how I let him get to me.

He just grunted and shut the door after him. Of course the light went out the second he shut the door, that’s what I hated about these prisoner cells, if you want the lights on then you have to keep the door open.

All of a sudden I was exhausted and my head was beginning to feel really heavy. It began to drop and just grew heavier with every second Rian was gone, and by the time the door creaked open, I couldn’t even hold it up.

“Well that’s not a good sign.”, an unfamiliar voice said.
