• "Hi, Im your new roommate," a voice said by the door.
The girl looked up, suprised, at another girl. This one had snowy white hair and pasty skin to match. The two colors looked very dull to eachother, but it made her eyes stand out so well. At first their a dark ocean blue, but at the oopiste side of the eye their a icy type of blue. Plus, they were pretty larger than normal eyes, which made them just more beatiful. Acutally, this girls pale features made her look very pretty. It was hard to describe why, maybe because the way they jumped off of eachother. It made her think of the Christmas angels that go ontop of your tree.
"Uh...hi," she greeted back still stunned. The girl had been at S.T. Academy for four months now, and didn't think she'd get a roommate. She knew if she did, it would be because some girls couldn't get along. No way anyone from the outside had survived and than be crazy enough to come to a boarding school. But this girl... she'd never seen her before.
"You have pretty eyes," the stranger said as she came in with luggage. The girl flushed, suddenly comparing herself to her. Her eyes weren't as pretty, they were a pale green, but she was wearing makeup that made them pop out. But the new roommates face was naked, or at least she figured.
"Oh. Thanks," she said staying on her bed. For some reason, she didn't walk over to help the girl unpacked. She was still too shocked.
"Um.. how'd you get.." she began trying to talk normaly.
"Here?" the other girl offered as she pulled out her shirts.
    "Yeah, here."
    "Rode a plane."
The girl blinked, suprised. No planes worked anymore, this was 2013. Nothing outside of this school worked.
"No, I mean, where you in a.. lower class? Like why are you rooming here?"
The fair skinned girl stopped packing and turned to her, confusion on her face.
"I got in a plane and flew here," she stated frowning at her.
Shes crazy! They stuck me with a crazy perons, the girl thought staring at her pale roommate. Is she not adapting well to the apolocalpse..? Does she think the worlds still spinning?
"So, whats your name? Im Selena, but call me Lee," the girl introduced and contuined to pull things out of her small suit case.
"...Name?" the other girl asked stupidly.
"Yeah, you know. The thing people call you as," Selena prompted and gestured.
"Oh- Emily. Emily Garner," she said rubbing her neck. She was making a bad impression.
"Thats a popular name, mind if I call you Em?" Lee asked her smiling.
...Popular name? Emily wondered bewilder at this girl. Yes, it acutally was a popular name, but there wasn't many Emilys at S.T. Academy, and their would be no more Emilys once everyone in this school died. In fact, there'd be nobody after them. The end of the world was coming and she wanted to call her Em?
"Uh.. yeah, I guess thats ok," Emily figured staring at her.
    "Do you have speech problems?"
"Wha-No. Im just.. tooken off guard."
"Its ok if you do, I won't tell anyone."
"I don't have speech problems. Geez," Emily blew at her thick brown hair as it swung over her face. Selena was defintatly crazy, she figured after a few moments of chatting. She must be a freshman, she figured. Acutally, Lee looked as old as Emily-maybe older- but her... actions where so young. Plus, Emily had never seen her, so she'd have to be at least in a younger grade, since Emily was a senior.
"Want to go get a bite with me? Im starving," Lee offered as she shoved the last piece of fabric in her dresser. Emily eyed her, wondering if she was skinny under the girls clothing. The girl wore a black hoodie, and large pants. Though she had on- slip on shoes? Emily did her best not to gape. Those are so out of style, she thought staring at them.
"Uh, no thanks. Go ahead, I just, er, ate," Emily lied. Acutally she hadn't eatten since lunch, and it was six o'clock already. But she didn't want to be seen with Selena, that would start unwanted attention.
"Oh.. ok then. See you later, Em," Lee said and waved as she made her way for the door.
Emily glared, she was already starting to hate her nickname. Was Emily so hard? And why did she want to be called Lee? That was such a boys name. While she watched her leave, Emilys stomach suddenly growled in demand of food. Selena stopped, her hand on the doorknob. For a second, Emily thought she'd yell at her or something, but after a moment she just opened her door and left.
Ouch, Emily winced as she gentally shut the door. Not even a slam... It filled the brunette with sudden guilt, but she just couldn't be seen with Lee.

Selena Roberts stood at the edge of the cafitera, not sure what to do. On her way to S.T. she'd just been told to fit in. To act normal, and do nothing out of character. But it was so.. weird. She couldn't remember anything about her past, though she wanted to so badly. They told her she was a normal highschool senior, nice, friendly, and very social. But after the "accident" she was... nobody. Nothing.
The only thing she recived from her past was a very small scrap book that survived the fires in California. Lee had decided to keep it in her sock during the whole time. She didn't want anyone to see it, fear'd they ask who was who in there. All Selena recgonized was herself. Apparently she had long wavy hair, but when she saw herself this morning, it was short and just a bit past her lower ear.
At first she didn't think anything of it. But once she got to her new dorm, Em was looking at her like crazy. It took a lot of will power for Lee to ignore it. Emilys hair was long and colorful. She had green eyes, and to Selena it was the first time she saw green eyes since the... well, for a while.
Sighing, she pulled a chart out of her back pocket. It had a food chart that she was suppose to eat. Strictly no meat, even though thats what Lee craved for. Though she didn't dare tell the doctor this as he "observed" her.
"Whats that?" a voice asked behind her and made her jump.
A boy stood behind her, looking over her shoulder. He had a nice dark brown hair, and brown eyes to match as well. His skin was well tanned, and Selena wondered if she would like him if she was still human. Is this cute? she wondered her eyes flickering at the boy.
"Hey, didn't mean to freak you out," the boy said putting his hands up. "Just wondering if your going to keep the line moving," he gestured to the large empty space in front of Selena.
"...Oh," she said acting like she knew what he meant. Suprisingly she picked up on things very fast, but it took a minute to figure out what the things were. "...Sorry." She didn't know what else to say and awkwardly filled in the gap. Aware the boy was behind her the whole time.
"So are you diabetic or something?" he asked her still looking at the chart.
"No," Lee said wondering what diabetic meant.
"Oh- sorry, just on a diet?" He glanced at her clothes and frowned slightly. She wondered if he was trying to see if she was fat or not. She knew what diet was because she read ads for those on her way here.
"...Yeah. A diet," she lied looking back down at her chart.
"Awesome. Im Adam by the way," he held out a hand.
Lee frozed for a minute, then shook it back before quickly turning and grabbing her tray. She noticed he kept talking, asking her name and things she never figured. Her favorite color? Music? What the hell? Was this guy observing her, did he know she wasn't human?
"Wow, how are you not starving?" Adam asked as Selena walked to a table with just some grapes and milk.
"Im always hungry," she admitted sitting down. She expected the conversation to end there, but instead Adam just sat down with her.
"Well don't kill yourself," he joked and Lee watched him eat some of his hot dog. Damn, she wanted meat.
"Want a hot dog?" he asked her noticing her stare.
She glanced back down at her tray. "Nope," she lied again and plucked at some grapes.
A few minutes passed of them just eatting, Selena watched some people come and go. One group stood out though. They all seemed what she'd consider pretty, and were laughing the whole time.
"Hey, guys," Adam called out and made Selena jump at his sudden yell. "Sorry," he said sheepishly.
The group of people looked up and waved, grabbing their lunches and joining the table.
"Whos she?" a girl asked who had midnight black hair and a nose ring. But she had a pretty face.
"Did you finally get a girlfriend?" another boy with orange hair asked smiling.
"Hey- Im right here," a girl said from behind Selena. She jumped and turned around to see a blonde girl was bright blue eyes. She smiled at her, as if to apologize for the scare.
"No, this is Selena," Adam said gesturing to her. She frowned, as if it was a bad thing to pass on her name.
"Hi, Im Rochelle, but call me Rocky," the girl with the nose ring said. "Thats Matt," she pointed to the orange hair. "And thats Kelly," she pointed to the blonde chick. "Oh hey..." she glanced around. "Wheres James?" her attention spam seemed short.
"Nice to meet you," the others said at the same time, which freaked Lee out a bit.
"Uh...hi," Selena said feeling like Emily.
"Do you mind if you move over one? I like sitting by Adam," Kelly said and Selena instantly scooted. "Thanks," she smiled at her and then kissed Adams cheek.
Selena stared for a minute, then turned back to her grapes. What a weird feeling that had come over her. What was that, she wondered curiously as her heart rate seemed to grow. She never felt anything.. but just now something inside her twisted. She didn't like it.
