• It is known far and wide, a world by which many know as Wonderland. Full of creatures only the wildest of imaginations could create, and adventures only the bravest would endure--yes, everyone knows of Wonderland.

But there are few who know the reality of a place such as this. A place of such wonder and innocence simply cannot be so for too long. Everybody, and everything, must grow up someday. For Wonderland itself is simply a reflection of childhood, and thus is affected by the reality of that child. One who grew up in warm, loving arms and safe, caring homes stayed peaceful and pleasant.

But there were those whose lives weren't so wonderful. Alice was one of those who learned the hard way that life is the most unfair game you'll ever play. The loss of her family came with a price; her innocence was forever lost in the flames that consumed everything she had ever known. Her mind cracked that day. And every day since that crack has deepened and spread. For a long time, many people tried to help Alice. They tried to mend the broken pieces of her heart and mind, soothing the savage beast that was growing inside this poor child. They told her stories of knights killing dragons, princes saving princess, and anything that had an ending where everybody lived happily ever after. For a time, Alice stopped speaking. And in that time, all manner of nasty and terrible things did creep into her mind. From monsters that romped in tiny children's nightmares to the blood-splattered fiends that creep in our world. Those stories of triumph and joy fell on ears that only clung to the broken parts. The demons that never won, the beasts that always died--the things nobody wanted. The things nobody cared for were the things that Alice grew to love.

And when Alice found her way back to Wonderland, she had found that things had changed terribly. The colors seemed to have burned into shades of black and gray; the whimsical creatures were all warped and distorted; the land was desecrated and the rivers ran with blood.

"What has happened to my Wonderland?" Alice cried out in sorrow. the Hatter did appear then, though he'd been there awaiting her for some time now.

"Life happened to it, Alice. Your life has changed Wonderland." He said simply. Alice looked at her old friend, who was now ravaged by time and pain and whose clothes were tattered and threadbare.

"Then I will change it back." Alice countered. Wiping away her tears, Alice turned her back to the Hatter and began walking with her fists clenched in determination.

'Wonderland is a dangerous place now, Alice.' the Hatter warned.

'And I'm a dangerous person.' Alice did reply...
