tab Many centuries ago on a small world in the sparkling darkness of the heavens, there waged what be known later as The First End War. This world's young races, those ones that many see as "good" or "noble" races, marched together in armies against one it's it's greatest threats.
tab As large as a notable lord's small castle and wings than would span a large village if fully outstretched, he was known as a mighty dragon. His name was Eon. With scales the reflective color of charcoal and eyes the color of a furnace, his full title among his kin was Eon'byurainskarda. Translated it is literally "Eon-burning eyes-cinder scales", however historians interpret it as "Eon of the burning eyes and cinder scales".
tab However it was not the legion serving him nor his size that brought such fear among many, though those were surely responsible. It was for the unexpected loss of what was truly important amidst all the chaos.
tab For with every exhalation or thought, Eon had erased the world's very name.
tab From every man, woman, plant, and animal's mind, even from the most safeguarded historical text, it was erased. When one tried to remember it, it would elude them. Speaking it aloud sounded foreign and reading it was impossible for it would appear as an indecipherable scrawl. It happened gradually, fading from daily use as the name was lost, forgotten in such a short span of time.
tab It was that time that Eon began to rise. Few of his kind sided with him but the dragons alone could not suppress their brother, for when they acted he was too powerful for the young ones, although he himself was only a decade or two their elder, the gap of power showed clearly. His menacing presence cast a grim atmosphere over all as the battles became bloodier; and more and more one sided.
tab Though even with the end so surely in sight, as in all tales help came from an unexpected source. Amongst the battle that would be his last, a single whit wolf came for his life. It wasn't one of the larger wolves that were at that time present nor one of the many of the more common and native. It didn't even seem to be from that world. Powerful magic had brought the wolf to the battle site.
tab Aided by the two men and one woman responsible for it's arrival, the wolf traveled quickly through the battle and plunged a spear into his chest. During the entire battle Eon had not a shallow or deep wound that he'd gained. In years, he had not been seriously injured, or harmed, either. His death was not because of his undoing, however, and thus not because of his overconfidence.
tab For whatever reason that the wolf had come there for and the sudden vulnerability of his hide, with a bright flash, Eon met his defeat. As he bellowed his last the roaring words were wrought with confusion, and the great dragon's rage-filled body fell to the ground in a heap. From his scales and starting from his spine, there flowed a substance as black as pitch flowed, covering his entire body. It flaked off as though it had dried and throughout the process, he disappeared with them.
tab The wolf who had slain him was nowhere to be found after his fall, as well and the trio who'd brought it. The armies of the "good" races scoured the site of the fallen dragon tyrant as well as the near battlefield while their enemies, a mixture of demons, beast, and all many of "evil" races, fled across the land. They, along with scholars or mages, concluded that it had returned to it's own world and time at the instance of the flash.
tab Not all accounts of The First End War are accurate, but Eon'byurainskarda's rise, reign, and death by a white wolf are certain. Yet even then, with the end of the war, the world's true name had been lost to the annals of time.
