• Since she was four years old, Rachel had played with Krissy. They were best friends and Krissy always stayed the night. Rachel's porcelain doll was Krissy's favorite toy. The doll had tiny golden ringlets that fell loosely to her mid back, like Krissy. Rachel and Krissy told each other all their secrets and even though Krissy was little, she always told Rachel that she had no parents to take care of her.
At night, when Rachel was asleep, Krissy liked to open the doors and stack Rachel's books. When Rachel had to go to school, Krissy stayed home and played with the doll. Rachel's mom would get mad sometimes because the doll was very important to her. It was made to look like her deceased sister, Kristine, who passed away when she was only four years old.
Krissy would always hide when Rachel's mother came around and she told Rachel that she had to keep her a secret because she didn't want Rachel's mommy to tell on her. So, they kept their play dates quiet and hidden until one day. Rachel and Krissy were having a tea party with the porcelain doll, when Rachel's mother walked in. Krissy didn't have time to hide.
Rachel's mother said, " Sweetie, who are you talking to?"
