• I shuddered, not out of pain, but not out of pleasure. I felt the warmth oozing out of me, and I sighed loudly. Gasps escaped the small part in my lips. The weather helped numb the tingling sensation. Through the silhouette of the branches, gray was the color of the dull sky.

I finally dared to look at it. When I did, I regretted it.

Blood seeped out of my chest. The knife was planted deep in. In a weak attempt, I grabbed the handle, and pulled. My muscles' tightened up around the blade, and a hollow scream escaped my throat. I immediately let go, gasping for air.

I tried again. Wrapping my bony fingers around the handle, I jerked up... And blood spewed. I let the scream rip out of my throat, tears welling up in my eyes. I couldn't just sit here and freeze to death.

Wobbling, I stood. I placed a hand on the tree next to me, leaning on it. I reached down to my sweatshirt, and picked it up. Whoever assaulted me took it off, for some reason. I sighed, and slipped it on over my bloodied torso. I couldn't stand the pain from the cold much longer.

I started inching in no particular direction, hoping to find someone, somewhere. Everything looked the same; dull, gray, everything the same. I lost all hope in an escape route out of this blizzard-like hell. A throbbing pain in my chest caused me to collapse to the ground. I held on achingly, screaming hoarsely for help.

I heard the crunching of snow under shoes. I slowly craned my head, to see a pair of Converse. I followed the legs up to the face. Black hair cupped his face, his hazel-green eyes boring into mine. His nose and ears were pink, otherwise his skin was pale as a ghost. "H-help..." I squawked, reaching up.

His emotionless face didn't reveal if he was going to help me or not. He grabbed my hand, just to gently place it to my side. He bent down, so we were face to face. He wrapped his warm hands around my waist, picked me up, and gently held me in his arms. I felt us start to walk away. His warm breath tickled my neck as he whispered, "Everything's gonna be okay..." His insinuation was soothing enough to let me flutter my eyes shut...

    That's how I met Tyler.
