• A beautiful night when the stars glow like a flickering candle. The warm light, like a wrap of protection within the darkness, lays above the rustling trees and tall buildings. When the light reaches her, its brilliance is that of a diamond ocean overhead. When all she sees around her is darkness, one can say it’s like being stuck in time. Stuck in a world where sight is unforgiving, only the stars there to welcome her.

She feels for her blanket across the bed and pulls it over her shoulders. The wind flowed through the window and framed her face with its cool touch. Her hands pressed together beneath her chin in a pray. Not a single night passes without a wish.

“Twinkle twinkle little star, up above where you shine so far. Please make my single wish come true,” her lips moved ever so slightly, eyes glimmering with the stars. “I wish for my eyes to see the world, too.”
