• she was lost, alone, walking on filthy streets. careful to not step on shard of glass, hard to see in the dark. Her house didn't feel like a home, so she just adventured at night, walking through safe and dangerous parts of town. She knew better, but didn't care for her own safety. In the rough area's people would walk by saying "be careful down here", men would approach her, asking her name. Telling her she looked beautiful asking "where's your man?" "I don't have one" she would say. It was true. She didn't trust men, walking through these parts was a paradox.
It was late, the moon and the stars peeked out in the sky, somehow visible with the city lights. she crossed the street into the city park, where weeping pine trees swayed in the summer wind. A blue green streak slowly moved through the sky; a commit, like a kiss to those who stood below.
She watched in awe as it trailed away, before sighing and wondering how could something so beautiful exist, when life on Earth could feel so ugly. Did anyone care for her? Those who said they'd always be there, broke their promise, along with her heart. So she hid under the large weeping pine tree alone... wishing she could find a place, filled with no fear and feel grace. She wept under the weeping branches, that were beautiful and yet sad. A breeze moved through the tree, and water began to pour down the branches, like tears, she peered out to the sky...there were no clouds.
just then, the broken bottle glass on the ground started to shine in an unusual glow, the moon looked bigger, and illuminated so brightly in a strange fashion. she heard the sudden crackling of the branches as through the tree may fall, but to a shocking surprise, the pines turned into sea shells, and the trunk of the tree started to bend in a spiral type shape, inviting her to climb it. she put one leg over the trunk and climbed onto one of the braches, as it grew forward into the sky, which became the ocean. She floated in water, above the city, still somehow able to breathe. the ground where the moon shown through the water made a pattern below, as though she was looking into a fountain. she swan through the sky lightly floating what felt like stopped time, though she could see the cars below. a jellyfish bobbed beside her, with electric lighting up in it's globe, harmless, no fear of being stung. There was no fear here, or sadness, as she drifted through the current. above her she could see the moon and stars still bright, beautifully distorted by the water. the water and it's gentle flow moved her over houses, people of those she knew and loved, over fields and power lines, suburbs and highways.. before finally, returning her to the sea shells tree that gently brought her back down. the sea shells disappeared, the weeping pine returning into it's natural state. And that's when she knew, somehow, it'd be alright...
