• Once there was a land where all beings lived alongside each other, looked over by a great deity. This great land was named Aesteron. It was a place where all of the species lived together in harmony and friendship, and there was respect between all beings. It was said to be a paradise, or as near as one could come to paradise in a mortal land.
However, as is the inevitable way of existence, the land fell. As harsher conditions befell the peoples, tensions rose between the different species, and cracks in the very foundations of the world started to appear.

The deity, wearied by the turmoil and strife of it’s creation departed forever.
Where it travelled to or exactly what happened to it is a mystery that will probably never be solved, but before it left the planet forever, it chose six of the most prodigious beings in the world to rule in it’s stead. These were known as the Chosen and were given the task to rule the world wisely and restore peace to the broken lands.

However, peace was not restored as each Chosen had interest only in the well being of their own kin and, spurred on by lack of trust and their own personal paranoia, the Chosen turned their backs on each other, dominating each realm and causing conflict and fear between the people whom they were sworn to protect, each striving to create a new personal paradise for themselves.
They strove to create only perfection, but perfect beings were impossible for imperfect beings to create, constrained as they were by their own being and ideology. No invention could be perfect, and nothing perfect could ever be created or destroyed.

It is oft said that no being can be truly perfect, not even deities. The irregularities and shortcomings of a being are what makes it what it is, but that was not how the Chosen saw it. They continued to search for perfection, becoming overcome by sin, casting away hundreds and thousands of imperfections away to a condemned life and a condemned death, serving their master’s every needs. This continued almost indefinitely, until, by sheer chance, a creature was created with a true consciousness, the ability to think for itself and to make mistakes containing within himself all the brilliant quirks that make beings truly alive.

    This is his story.
