• It was the last day of my sophomore year and school had just ended, my friend CJ called my house to ask if I wanted to come over for the end of the school party and I didn't know if I wanted to go at first because I was feeling lazy but I decided that I should go or else I would stay home for the first day of vacation and do nothing. Which to me sounded pretty boring. So I got ready and headed off to the party without knowing that the most amazing guy would be waiting there for me. When I got there, there was a lot of people that I didn’t know, partly because I didn’t even go to their school but I was invited because I was a long time friend of CJ’s. I went downstairs and I got to know a lot of people but then I saw him, the nicest looking guy I have ever met. Right when I saw him I went back upstairs so not to embarrass myself in any way possible. I was talking to my other friend Sharon when I decided that I would go and confront him. Right as I was about to turn the corner to the stairs, he came right up. Our eyes met and before I could say anything he extended his arm out and said, “Hi, my name is Nikola. Nice to meet you.” I was amazed and a little shocked that he would come up and talk to me. Right when I saw him I knew I had fallen in love. I guess people would call it love at first sight. After that, I tried to distance myself from him but I still watched him from a distance. Little did I know that he liked me back and that he was trying not to make a fool of himself too. Instead of participating in the water balloon fight I just watched from inside, as he got soaked by all the other guys. I went back inside to talk with the other girls and then I went to go check on him again, they were done with the fight and they had to borrow clothes from CJ because all of theirs were wet. So everyone was wearing gym shorts and school tee shirts, they looked ridiculous. My friend Sharon and I decided to go get Slurpees so we went outside. When we got there we saw all the guys clothing lying around to dry. I saw Nikola’s shirt and shorts and so I decided that instead of showing him that I liked him, I would be mean to him instead to cover it up. And so, I took his clothes and put them up in a tree so he wouldn’t find them, i was tempted to throw them on the house's roof, but i didn't so we went to 7-eleven. When I got back Nikola and the other guy’s were down stairs again playing their video games. After they were done, we all decided to watch a movie. It turns out they wanted to watch a scary movie called The Fog and so we started watching it. I’m not so sure when they changed it but apparently I didn’t notice it when they changed the movie to The Cave. While we were watching the movie, Nikola decided that I looked uncomfortable on the floor so he invited me to the spot next to him. I accepted the offer and that’s when we started to get close. I would lean on his shoulders and he would hold me in the scary parts, because I do not particularly like horror films but whenever he would say something witty I'd always punch him in the shoulder. I was still trying to be mean to him. After the movie, every could see that we were getting closer and I didn’t even try to be mean anymore. Afterward, when everyone went back to playing cards, video games, talking or just walking about, Nikola and I just sat down on the couch and talked. It was really interesting and I found out that he was such a nice guy; it wasn’t only his appearance that appealed to me but also his charm and aura. We decided to play a little bit of Brawl and he beat me at it because I had never played before. I remember him telling me that he wasn’t that good either but later I would find out that he was a video game master. Then while we stated talking again we ended up playing a one-on-one game of truth or dare. After awhile of playing the game he asked me, “truth or dare?” and I replied, “truth” his questions to me was, “do you like me?” and I answered, “yes I do” and so he smiled at me and said, “good, because I like you too.” After that he asked me out, even though we had just met that day, and ever since that day we’ve been going out. This is the happiest moment of my life because it was the day that I met my boyfriend. Ever since then, he’s been through thick and thin, supporting me through all my problems, helping me when I am down and calling me beautiful when I look my absolute worst. Even though we go to different schools, schools that pretty much hate each other, we still find time for one another. I love him so much and I will always think of that day as the fondest memory in high school. Also next June will be our one-year anniversary and so I dedicate this to him. I LOVE YOU NIKOLA. heart
