• in 1976 my grandfather joined the marine core after being married 4 years abd was the father of 2 daughters. there are many others like him that joined the service... but this is my grandfathers story. he tells me that people cannot imagine the lonlyness and sadness that is in a soldiers heart for leaving his family. this is why he always encourages people to write to their friend and family who are serving their country during piece or war time. every marning they get up and all they can think about is waiting for that special letter to come in. when they don't here their named call sating they have mail... sadness fills their hearts and deppresion settles in. the same sadness and lonelyness also comes to play when they are shipped out to foreighn land or to sea where at times they do not have access to call home and all they look forward to is for their name to be called saying they've got mail. this lonlyness does not only apply to soldiers who are married with families. but it also effects out younge men and women who are single. even though my grandfather was just a cook... he was still effected by the lonlyness.

    MY GRANDMAS FEELINGS ON THIS:
my grandmother felt terrable because she was raising 3 kids on her own. she was also very lonely.for about a year they were seperated with the constant threat of being sent to countries in war.she felt sad everytime she read the letters, she to was waiting everyday for the letters. keep in mind that they didn't had and cell phones at that time. so being a soldier is a very lonely thing. missing babies birthdays, their first steps, their first words. it is very very ;onely and sad. in conclution so please write to the soldiers that are out there today. thank you.
