• ‘I was walking along a creek that ran in the opposite direction. The stones were smooth and cold against my bare feet. A soft breeze rustled through my loose waist-length hair. I was humming. Humming a tune I didn’t recognize. It felt like an incomplete tune though. I continued to walk. Farther up I heard another tune playing in the distance. I didn’t know exactly where the tune was coming from but I knew I wanted to follow it. And for some reason my feet knew where to go or rather…my heart did? My feet moved unconsciously in the direction the other tune was leading me in. It seemed to call out to me. To my heart. Drawing me closer and closer to it…’

    “Nena get up!”

‘It led me to the side of a mountain covered in a forest that seemed so familiar to me. I began to climb. The further I went up the harder it seemed to climb. My breathing became heavy. My head matted with my bangs from the sweat.
I reached out and used the trees for support. I had to keep climbing. I had to reach the place to where that other tune was coming from…’

“Nena your going to be late and I still need to register you!”

‘Higher and higher I went and every step became harder. It hurt to breathe. I was almost there just a little more…
    CRACK!
A branch I had reached for snapped. I lost my footing and I began to fall. I closed my eyes tight. Was I going to die?! I felt something grab my hand and I stopped falling. As debris fell around me I opened my eyes slowly. I looked up. A dark figure had caught me.
    A person?
    Who?
I heard the tune I had been following again. It was the same as the tune I had been humming earlier. Only not exactly the same. It was the missing piece to my half. The two halves fit so perfectly together they made the most beautiful melody I had ever heard. I stared up into the eyes of the dark figure. The figure became lighter. Soon I would be able to see their face…’

    “NENA NOW!!!”
