• Have you ever seen a landfill? Or even a dump? Both have gigantic, huge hills of nothing other than... garbage. This garbage seeps into our ground water which is also our city tap. Which means we are drinking garbage! You should go green, not for someting to do, but to save the Earth's natural resources, environment, and the future generation after us.
Seventy percent of humans drink water from plastic bottles. Twenty-four percent of that water is from city tap, so basically bottled water is city tap. The difference between the two, you get city tap from your faucet, and you wash and reuse the glass. Bottled water has a plastic bottle, which if reused, can get you very sick. Most of these bottles end up in landfills. In fact ninety percent of the used plastic botles do not even get recycled! That is thirty billion bottles in a landfill per year. Buying bottled water can also cost up to ten thousand times more than city tap. Well of course you should know that the plastic bottles have to be processed. During this process chemicals leach into the bottled water. Chemicals such as Phthalates. Phthalates can cause cancer. This makes drinking from bottled water life risking.
There is one day devoted to saving the earth that everybody does someting. The other three-hundred, sixty-four days of the year, nobody does anything. In the middle of the summer, we all use air conditionsers. Sadly, in the production of all the air conditioners they use a chemical called Chlorodifluoromethan. Chlorodifluoromethan is a global warming potential. Global warming is causing drought and a lot of extra rain. The drought is causing the wetlands to shrink. Even the oceans and coastal regions are being effected. Oceans are being over fished, polluted, taken for granted, carelessly abused. We need the oceans and land for our survival.
Every year six million to twenty-five million trees are cut down. The trees create oxygen and we use oxygen to live. If we use all the trees and oxygen on planet earth, the future generation cannot live. Seventy percent of our oxygen is from the trees we see everyday. If we use all the trees we will have to move from Earth to Enceladus. Would you want to live on a planet with that name? With every tree we cut down a year, we can lost two people. That is 12 million to 50 million people a year, just from cutting down trees. That is alot of people.
Our earth has been through a lot over the years. From Mother Earth's land being taken over by plastic bottles, to her trees disappearing. If we go green for her, the future people will not have to search for a new planet, they will not have to worry about their air, and they will not hav eto worry about their lives, like we do. Going green can save all humanity in the end.
