• War is a disease,
    It creeps into the hearts
    Of men and women,
    Twisting their hearts,
    Their bodies,
    Their minds,
    So that they
    Are no more
    Than pawns,
    No more
    Than animals,
    Without choice,
    Or love.
    But then,
In the heat of the war,
    People arrive,
    Carrying with them
    The thing that can
    Dispel darkness, war, fear,
    And anguish.
    They use the power,
    To make people return
    To their original loving selves,
    Not pawn,
    Not animal,
    Not beast.
    Yet it only comes
    When all is lost,
    When the world
    Plummets into
    Everlasting turmoil
    That only it can solve.
    Now, in our world today,
At this very second and hour,
    Peace is here.
