• Confessions and Forgiveness

She lies there on her couch, gun in her hand,

Thinking for a moment why she lives on this land.

"He doesn't care about me and I hurt s bad inside,

He says he's out working even though I know they're all lies."

She lies there alone, tears streaming down her face,

She knows she'll always love him and no one can take his place.

Even though he's gone all day and all night long,

She knows she'll always want him when she clutches her pillow in fright.

She knows she needs him by her side to help her all the way,

She knew they where meant to be since the very first day.

She heard the door unlock and knew he was home,

She hid the gun where she'd remember so she wouldn't have to roam.

"I have a confession to tell you." He said as sadness laced his words,

"I've cheated and gambled. I don't expect you to forgive me because I know your heart hurts.

I don't know why I did this to you. I broke my promise to not hurt you,

My heart has been clutching with guilt for so long this is all I could do."

She thought for a moment about what he said,

Her eyes went void of emotion as these thoughts flew through her head.

She looked into his eyes and saw they were full of guilt and sorrow,

When she didn't answer he turned to leave, "No! Please don't go."

"I forgive you for what you've done because you saved my life,

Before you came in I was going to shoot myself and no longer be your wife.

I'll love you for, for ever and for always. So no matter what you do,

Don't ever think I'd let you go. I love you and only you."

He held her in a tight embrace with tears in his eyes,

He loved her with all his heart and soul, he then let out a sigh.

"Thank you my love, my little dove, my golden butterfly,

You've shown me a beauty and a smile that could stop a babies cries."

They held each other closer, nothing could take them apart,

They knew they loved each other and they held each others hearts.

And so they stayed no longer sad, or guilty of a crime,

They shall live happily ever after until another time.
