• The guns are crying into the night –
The clashes of the many dead.
The cries of the women and children,
    Will haunt me for eternity.

    Now here I lay,
In a field of bloody flowers.
    The colours are spinning –
    I hear my heart beat,
    Slowly – ever slowly.

    So I reminisce.
    Over what is known,
    But never knowing,
That it will all soon be –
    Nevermore.

    I see your faces.
So clear in my eyes –
    But yet so faint.
    I reached out my hand,
    For you to hold.
As it was – years ago.

    Mother and Father,
    You watched me grow.
From the babe in your hands –
    To the person I became.

    Mother and Father,
    You held my hands,
    And heard my dreams.
    You saw all my goals,
And watched every step I took.

    Mother and Father,
You were proud that day –
    While the same,
    Your hearts were sorrow filled.

    Mother and Father,
    Please don’t be sad.
As I wave till I see you no more.

    Mother. I love you.
    Father. Please be proud.
    And with that,
    I know –
    Nevermore.
