• Death's Sweet Release
    Your eyes were so empty
    Your heart so sad
    Your mask so perfect
Your smile vacant of the love you had

Your laugh once made me happy
Your smile would make me sigh
Your eyes so full of full of life
    Without them I cry

    I dreamed of an angel
    Oh what beauty he had!
He said I was to die
    And he didn’t seem sad

    He told me that death
    Was a truly beautiful thing
    And just like him
My death would come on wings

    But I didn’t care
Death was better than your eyes
    Empty and accusing
    Reminding me of my lies

So I told him to kill me
Because if what he said was true
    I wanted to die soon
So I wouldn’t see all the pain I caused you

    He told me not yet
    That it wasn’t my time
And he told me a poem
    Such a beautiful sad rhyme

    “True pain won’t go away
    Death will come
    But not today
    Tears will fall
    And blood will rain
    But most of all
    You will feel pain,”

    The angel left
    And I cried
    But I remembered his words
    And soon after you died

    I hear that song
    And this I know
I’ll never see that angel again
For that’s not where I’ll go
