• Life starts out
    like just a seed
    planted in the earth.

    Then the seed,
    works it's way,
    digging through the dirt.

    But unlike seed,
    some life doesn't
    have to work it's way.

    Some life starts out
    like an ugly duckling.

    The ugly duckling
    has work too,
    but of a different kind.

    This work could
    not be there
    if there was kindness.

    But,alas, there is no kindness,
    so the duckling works.

    Luckily,this duckling will
    be rewarded for it's work.

    Some life starts
    like a slave,
    working to survive.

    The slave has work too,
    of a different kind.

    The slave works
    day and night
    working for it's life.

    The slave works,
    for it's family,
    for it's feed,
    for it's life.

    The work is hard,
    and unrewarding.
So the slave waits for death.

    So when slave
    meets it's fate
    it is with open arms.

    In some lives,
    all it needs,
    is a bit of kindness.

    But,alas,
    in these lives,
    that is just a myth.

    Of the three,
    I'd rather live,
    the life of the seed.
