Moon rises high, orange and bright
Across the hills the skeletons dance
Ghouls and Goblins stir up fright
Among the tombstones phantoms prance
King Edgar sits on his Raven's throne
Looking about to see who dares
Wander into his domain alone
All this night on the eve of scares
The pumpkin king in the pumpkin patch
Ole Jack the prankster with his sack of tricks
These haunted patrons none can match
Race forth from out the river Styx.
King Edgar looks down upon the faint of heart
Fretting over their trivial cares
They should know better than cross into this world apart
On this of all nights the eve of scares.
Creatures from the darkest night
All arise once every year
Into the skys with laughs take flight
Spreading the joy that we call fear
And King Edgar raises his bloody pen
To copy down so all will be aware
That every year it will happen again
All on the eve of scares.
