• In the beginning, the earth spun around the stars ever so aimlessly.
This desolate planet saw the beings thrive atop the stars, and long for it’s own life.
The ground wept tears of dust for it’s child not yet conceived,
But those tears only moistened the cracking earth.
Yet in an instant, the heavens opened up in all their glory.
A glimmering star fell to earth, and was taken in by the cracks in the earth.
And ever so slowly, the cracks became one once again.
That glittering star spread it’s wings, and let thousands of children sprout from it.
These children matured, and they sprang from the earth in all their glory.
    Oh how beautiful they were!
Their skin glimmered as the night sky, their eyes intense as the sun.
These creatures breathed upon the earth, and gave it new life.
Greenery sprung from the dust of the land, and the dust became human flesh.
The earth was dancing with life, and it was shrouded in joy.
Then the mortals saw the beautiful creatures, and they were afraid.
How could something so magnificent be of any good?
Their thoughts of fear turned to a rage, and they despised the creatures.
Their hate became so great, so terrifyingly horrid, that they turned upon their creators.
So those foolish mortals forced the heavenly creatures into the dark abyss of life.
Now the brilliant creatures were neither live nor dead,
Just hanging in the air to darken the midnight sky.
The life was ripped from their chest, the blood was ripped from their veins.
The night sky tore at their beauty, and soon little was left.
The beings longed for what they once had, a beating heart.
Oh, how they wanted life to flow through their veins once more!
They saw the life swimming through human flesh, and they desired it.
And in that moment, the earth repaid it’s debt.
It set the magnificent beings free from their prison with it’s sorrowful tears.
The beings stole their light back from the night sky, and began to find life again.
They feasted upon mortal flesh, and their blood soothed the pain.
Now, these beings stalk the earth.
They search for hearts that returned to dust long ago.
