They ask me to write down
my race

and i think
and think very seriously

if i should write down the truth
and have my answer read

inside this body
i have a grandfather
fighting for our freedom

i have a other mother
tending to her ill daughter

i have a woman
getting married at 18

i have a dog
dying at the age of 16

i have many things inside this body
but i stop
and simply write down
My Race? Why do you ask?

wow that's good. yea i know why should we be asked wat our race is? can't we all just be known as people and not as Hispanic, African American, Coacasian, etc? We should be known by who we are not by our race.
