• She exchanges what she needs
    For what she wants.
    It leaves his hands,
    And she's happy again.
She just can't wait until she gets home.
There is no reason for this.
    No reason at all.
No reason for what she's about to do,
    She takes the needle
    And pushes it through.
    The liquid enters
    As she presses the end,
    And she gets high,
    The drug; her only friend.

    Waiting in the bathroom,
For the feeling to kick in,
    Why isn't it working?
    She thinks again and again.
    She's bleeding all over,
    From cutting her wrist,
    It's never been this bad,
    Never been like this.
    And it's not working,
    So she takes the knife,
    Digging deeper,
    She'll soon end her life,
    If she continues,
    If she keeps pressing hard,
    But it doesn't relieve her,
Her heart stopped and won't start.
    It won't beat,
    It won't pump
All the blood that she needs.
    So it didn't work,
    And she's now gone.

    Saving yourself,
    Saving you now,
    I know what you do,
    It's "The only way out"
    You keep asking the man,
    "Just one more drink, Please?"
    And he shakes his head,
    You're practically on your knees.
    He pours one more,
    Hoping it's the last,
    But he knows deep inside,
That the drink is ruining you,
    Your present, future and past.
    You're dying inside,
    Emotionally and physically,
    He's seen it before,
    The women drinking typically,
    Have jobs that "Just suck"
And their husband's "Always out late"
But he knows when they're telling the truth,
    Or when they're just fake.
But he keeps pouring their drinks.
And he watches them spiral down.
    Out of control,
    The liquor has them drowned,
    Addicted.

    He's hitting the girl
    Again and again.
    She's crying silently
    Beside him in bed.
    He doesn't care.
    He doesn't know.
    What she has planned,
    That she's planning to go.
    To run away.
    To save her own life.
    She doesn't need this,
    The abuse, the strife.
    She runs in the morning,
    He'd left for work.
And now that she's left "home",
    She's finally cured.
