• I have no idea where I am
    A darkness falls upon me.
Nowhere to go, lonely and cold
    Fear is what surrounds me.

    Scared of what might happen
in the stillness of the night.
Dead silence of this haunting hour
    is what awaits me tonight.

My flashlight – a full moon
    becomes my only guide.
But yet, I feel that I’m being watched.
I have nowhere to go, nowhere to hide.

“Just Keep Running,” I tell myself,
    “Don’t look back.”
Afraid of what might be following me,
    wondering if it might attack!

    Running past people, houses,
    Not knowing where I’m going.
I feel the presence of the chaser.
But yet, its shadow is not showing.

    The clock is ticking.
    I’m running out of time.
All I hear is its foot steps
    and the church bell’s chime.

I feel fear crawling up my spine.
    Wondering, “Am I too late?”
    I shut my eyes. . . . . open them. . . .
    and I awake.

I walk outside to go to school,
And things seemed strange to me.
I look around, the places, the sounds
It all appeared as they did in my dream.

I am living in a nightmare.
    The people and the sounds
never seem to come out of my mind.
They just want to stick around.

Just the thought of fear is scary,
Other people don’t seem to mind. . . not one bit.
    You can’t live in fear. . .
    just don’t think about it.
