• She was like the sun,

    And I was her moon.

My fairness was like the moon,

My hair as dark as night.

Her skin was honey and golden,

    Her mane of warm sunlight.

I with my cold and quiet humor,

    Much of an introvert.

She with her loud and joyous nature,

    A smiling extrovert.

She made me warm with laughter

And brought my unspoken thoughts to light.

    She was my best friend

    For many years and fortnights.

Our paths and lives had crossed

    By the lives of others,

    Yet, we have slowly separated

    Because of each other.

I miss her so and yet, I know

    Our relationship will ever be

    How it was in past,

    Preterit, and former history.

    The reason, I know

    Is because of this:

    Our friendship was sadly

    Only but a mere eclipse.
