• One Big Difference

    Love to loyalty
    Insanity to fears
    One’s a path of paranoia
The other means committing your years
Two mindsets, different but the same
Similar in pattern, different in aim
To be in love is to be insane
If that’s true, then in love we’ve much to gain

    Before I Sleep

I climb into bed and try to forget
The events of the day for a little bit
    But they’re haunting and crushing
    They cut like thorns brushing
    Against my bare skin
What’s worse is the pain I’m in
I wish the day didn’t happen, say it didn’t occur
But mind versus memory ends in massacre
So I cry silently and reflect on my day
As my mind and body become soft as clay
So before I lose it and go completely mad
And my state of insanity becomes ironclad
I drown out all thought with music and noise
Make my mind go blank and stare at old toys
    So I can’t recollect a single thing
    I can’t see people’s faces laughing
Or worse, not even looking at all
For a mistake that created a wall
Between me and the world at large
And touching gives me an electric charge
So suddenly I wake to do it again
To go through the same regimen
It’s a routine that tends to reap
    The rest of me away
    Before I Sleep

    Pacifists

    “No war, just peace
    All battles need to cease”
I say we keep on fighting
No matter of wind, rain, or lightning
The war is on, and we need to win
To get out of the mess we’re in
As to be idle is the aim of the busy
Peace is the goal of war and me.
