-
A man with a broken wing.
From where? No one could tell.
He said he was a messenger
From the first level of Hell
"I can show you shadows
Beyond this world of light
I can show you beautiful things
Full of wonder, awe, and fright!"
"Though my world isn't perfect,
and some pains feel as though from fire,
Why should I go to another, with you,
When I'm already sore and tired?"
"Your world's light is twisted
So why not take a chance?
If you must walk through fire and flames,
You might as well skip and dance!"
"So tell me" I said bluntly,
"What should I expect to gain?
Then I started doubting my senses
"Am I finally going insane...?"
"You'll gain more knowledge than any man
Have answers to all one could ask
Yet you'll find it's unfufilling
Once you've completed the task."
"I tire of this world's toil;
I'm sick of pain and pleasure
My mortal world lacks substance,
While your world holds a treasure"
"So come with me, take my hand,
Limbo won't always wait.
But if this be so the path you choose,
The earth, you'll grow to hate."

- i like this one, the conversation isn't something you find in most poetry. and the fact that it's something that doesn't happen in reality makes the poem even better. ^.^
