Thank you... Dad

• Description: I wrote this poem after I had a fight with my father while he was drunk.
  I was so disappointed and hurt that I decided to write this poem. It isn't very long, but it says so much about our past relationship.

Living without you
I'll have to deal
You chose drinking over me
I'll just have to heal
Your screaming and yelling
has hurt my heart
You'll never realize
you're the reason we're apart
You've made my life
a living hell
Will I get over it?
Only time will tell
I'll forever feel sorrow
linger in the air
because now I know
You just don't care.
So thank you, dad
for teaching me today
and helping me learn
that I'll never be that way.
