• What do you do on a cold stormy day?
When the wind is blowing the sheets of rain,
While nothing can keep the thunder at bay,
With mini streams flowing into the street drains.

All you can do is to stay inside the house,
And listen to the rain that abuses its sides.
Another night with only the family mouse,
As he’s watching you from the place he hides.

Snuggled beside the fire for all its heat,
Startled as the lights in the house go out.
Singing some notes seems such a simple feat,
Smothering the sound of rain on its route.

Looking into the darkness is all you can do,
Like a stuffed animal, staring at nothing.
Licking dry lips, your tongue feeling like glue,
Little time feel like hours while only watching.

Through the long storm, the sun was battling,
Trying to break through the thick clouds.
The sun finally wins, with little time to spare,
The cold stormy day gives way to the dusk sounds.
