• Dear readers...

Listen to this and listen well
For this is the one story that I have to tell

    The soldiers moved forward
    Fear in their eyes
The best they could hope for
Was a quick way to die

    The enemy stood before them
    Weapons held tall
    Catching the light
    Of a new days dawn

    So the battle began
    But so did the end
    Of the promising lives
    Of all these young men

    And the battle moved on
    Through night and through day
    Fathers were dying
    While their young children played

    Soon years passed by
    With all battles fought
    And through peoples mind
    There was now one thought

What of the people that died on that day
Died on the inside not just in the fray?

    Those people you ask
    What happened to them?
Are they dead on the field?
    Just like their friends?

    Why no dear readers
That would be far to kind
    They are the young children
    Fathers left behind
