• YOUR OWN FUNERAL

    Rose petals with red velvet
    touch cascade around these broken
    hearts. The stainless steel coffin
half open sits along the narrow
length of wall. Droplets begin to fall
outside, eyes start raining and the flood
begins to pour. Such a morbid celebration
that many view as bad. Shouldn't they be
rejoicing for this soul that rests in bed?
I walk up to my dearest who is kneeling
down so sad. My curiosity hits me dead?
I try to call my love's name. Louder I get but
he does not answer any reply. I come closer
getting down next to him not realizing who it
is lying so passionately dead. My eyes quiver,
a tear starts to shed. I look him in the eye
and he looks up at me. He says to why
did you leave me here alone?
So confused I look in the silver coffin.
To my surprise I lay there with blue lips
and skin as pale as white.
