and yet for love pay any price

too soon our dreams a sacrifice

still we bleed and beg for love

to be wrapped in it like hand to glove

a safety that leaks and tears

how quick we are to seal with cares

when glasses break we collect the shards

with good intent and finger split we guard

those little rose slivers to hide the lies

are glued back together with painfilled cries

the cries, the lies, the hope, the fear

all the same we sacrifice, for love a single tear

and yet for love pay any price

too soon becomes a willing sacrifice
