• Here is a man walking on the moon
Mesmerised by every move, crowds swoon
Immortality residing in a single jewelled glove
Try to copy him and drag your feet across the floor
    But he’s not there anymore
    He’s not there anymore

Our parents and their parents lived it, watching him, hypnotised
Our kids will one day ask us where we were when we realised
“Are you okay? Will you tell us that you’re okay?”

Scream in shock at hole where something was
Yet what would music be if he never was?
    “Mouth to mouth resuscitation
    Sounding heartbeats-intimidations”

Here is a King flying over amplified screams
There will be no curtain call to his dreams
The wire holds on: hold on tight
To the innocence he never got to have
As all the world stands still; still singing him a song
Wondering if he knew this all along:

The second star to the right
    Shines in the night
    For you
