• A rise in the emotions of my internal weather,
a blustering of my outer blizzard.
The season is upon us to fill with joy,
with the snow comes presents or thought.
Not materials, necessities, or even wants,
these presents are ours in hope.

A single solitary moment with you,
drops of frozen rain on my face.
I take your hand and step out into the night,
snow crunching beneath my shiny black shoes.
You follow me into that night,
your heels cutting through with but a click.

    We arrive at the place,
a place that you talk about for months before hand.
Our bodies join in the middle, in the middle of a crowd,
we turn and bounce against each other.
It's the dance that were enjoying,
not just the social interaction of a pleasant sort.

    Live in the now,
moments that take your breath away.
    Leave them for tomorrow,
all the moments that allow a sweet taste in your mouth.
Love for the sake of love,
and all of the glory will engulf you.

It's midnight at the social scene,
yet the dance goes on for you and me.
There's nothing you can say or do now,
look into my eyes, blush, and look away.
I want to show you how I see you, darling,
to touch your lips to mine would be the best gift.

I wish that I could meet you here,
    before we were dead.
If only we could have stopped at this point in time,
maybe took a look at ourselves and witness our gaze.
The dance is over and the song is long done,
we don't move though, instead we just look.

It's ten days later and your name echoes in my head,
it's nine days later and your face penetrates my mind.
Five days later, I daze in thought about you,
and just a minute alter, I felt like kissing you would solve everything.
A minute before I felt as though I never would know how you felt,
a month before I never thought I had a chance.

    Live in the now,
moments that take your breath away.
    Leave them for tomorrow,
all the moments that allow a sweet taste in your mouth.
Love for the sake of love,
and all of the glory will engulf you.

I pick up my suit jacket and head towards the door,
wanting so badly to drape my arm across your shoulder.
We escape the room and move down the hall,
we should escape the world, and move into our own.
Back into the cold night with you,
you who is now sporting my own suit jacket for warmth.

Into the limo and closing the door,
    popping the fake champagne.
I pour it into four glasses for all of us,
and raise my own after passing them out.
"To my dearest friends and a magical evening,
to the best date I could ask for, yet never expect."

    It's time for goodbyes,
the limo pulls to a halt.
You look at me and tell me you had a lot of fun,
we exchange gladness about our choice to go together.
I want so badly to tell you how I feel, to enjoy every moment,
I know though, to hold it in is for the best.

    Live in the now,
moments that take your breath away.
    Leave them for tomorrow,
all the moments that allow a sweet taste in your mouth.
Love for the sake of love,
and all of the glory will engulf you.

And so here we have it dear friends,
the end of my Christmas poem.
After a year of you being you, and I being I,
I wish to wish you all a very merry holiday.
In this beautiful winter, in beautiful memory,
celebrate the people who took your breath away.

And those who will some day take your breath away.
